I went to Kingwood yesterday to show support for the family of Jeff, Amber and finally Shiloh Wilson. They brought Shiloh home in Texas style to join his parents already at the funeral home. Thousands of people stood in respect, the Wilson’s were well known in Kingwood.

Hill country is getting hammered again today. Evacuations are happening.

Talk about too much rain -- it's there! Last yr had severe drought in W TX...wish it could just even out, share!

A little neighborly help this morning. Courtney texted the shot I heard was her shooting a raccoon that was after her chickens. Anatolians were raising cane, looking in her direction. Then she called, only wounded the coon, it ran off, meanwhile she had to go get her toddler, could I come shoot it?

Her dogs had it cornered it in high weeds on side of road, under the fence. A 38 slug mortally wounded it, second slug, dead. My Anatolians quit barking, like they knew the threat was eliminated. Courtney’s dogs were no longer interested in it.

It was a young raccoon, good for the dogs, an old boar would have attacked them. I told her this one has siblings, be on the lookout.

She has a toddler and due soon with another baby. She will be tied down for awhile, I completely understand. I told her call me anytime, I’ve got her back. That’s what neighbors do.

Were the new neighbors ever able to get their house moved in? I know rains had prevented it. Hard wait for them.

Deb caught a coon in the live trap the other week when she was out. It has been going under the front porch some... so she called to see if I could come shoot it... I thought for sure she would have a gun at the farm.. .22 at least. She said that she had a .22 pistol but didn't know if there was any ammo.... ????? What good is a gun without ammo???? I said she could use .22 shorts or regular... not .22 longs that I use in the rifle.
Yep, that is what neighbors do... good for you.

Looks like sorghum-sudan when we couldn't get into it for weeks one year. It was up to the cab of the tractor in some spots....

Saw this & thought of all yall Texans on here. I have online friends in Europe & they really don't have ANY grasp of how VAST America is.... and most Americans just dont 'get' how big Texas is.
