    nutritional yeast

Does anyone give their goats nutritional yeast? I saw on the FiasCo Farms site that they order one through their feed store. I was wondering if it is the same thing as the stuff I get for myself at the health food store. Any ideas? -K

    Selling kids

I will try to get a pic of her udder when I let her fill. Right now the bucklings are on her 24/7. I plan on pulling them at night in the next couple of days. Yep, she gave me 2 cups 2x day. On her better days it was closer to 2.2 2x day. I believe she kidded in early June, I bought her in...

    Selling kids

Great questions. Honestly I had gone into this planning on wethering any bucklings. The breeder that I went through with the buck said that with the lines and the coloring that she thought these two would make good breeding bucks. The dam is not shown. This is her second freshening and I got...

    Selling kids

How do you advertise your kids for sale? And, when do you advertise? We have 2 bucklings and they would make nice breeding bucks, but I don't want to wait to band them on the hopes that maybe I could sell them as bucklings instead of wethers. They are only 2 weeks old, so I've got some time. I...

    vaccinations for kids

I'm a big believer that everything passes through, and we go as natural as we can. I might come to a place in the future that I change my mind, but for now we are choosing to not vaccinate our does, but we will vaccinate the kids that we plan to sell.

    vaccinations for kids

No, we don't vaccinate for CD & T either. I chose not to before the birth, so I know I will need to do 2 rounds with the kids, but all the info I find is only for those that have giving it before birth. -K

Looking for Pictures of LaMancha / Nubian Crosses and your experience

I don't know if this will help. We had a doe that was 1/2 ND, 1/4 Nubian, 1/4 Lamancha. She looked just like a mini Lamancha. She was bred to a ND buck and the baby looked like a larger ND (but then again the doeling was 3/4 ND and only 1/8 each Lamancha/Nubian). -K

    vaccinations for kids

OK, I need some advice. I don't vaccinate my two does because we use them for raw milk. But, I do need to vaccinate her two bucklings. What and when? They are 9 days today, so I'm guessing I'm getting into the window of needing to start their vaccinations. I've always only had horses, so this...

Looking to sell our two bucklings. They are both flashy black and white with blue eyes. One has frosted ears. $300 each, but willing to negotiate (and/or trade for a doeling). They come from good milking lines and both parents are tested CAE free. Born 2-13-2013 and will be weaned at 8 weeks...

    Hawks?

Can a large hawk take a new ND goat? My bucklings are 2 days old (probably 2.5 lbs each). We noticed a large hawk circling over head for awhile today. Should I be concerned? They are with their mama and she is pretty protective of them. Thanks -K

    still colostrum?

My doe had twins on Wednesday afternoon. I am noticing that they are both only drinking from one side. I was going to milk out some of the other side this afternoon. So 48 hours after delivery. Can I freeze it and keep it as colostrum? Or am I too late for that and it will be too much of a mix...

    More baby pics!

I did, except that instead of the powder I got 1000 IU gel caps from local health food store and cut them open and squirted it onto her grain once a day. Worked great.

    Transporting a goat

I've just transported my full grown ND goats in an extra-large size (doubles for my German Shepherd) dog kennel. They did fine in the back of my SUV. -K

    baby ears

Awesome, because I think he might make a nice breeding buck. He is beautiful! Gosh, I wish he were a doe. I would keep him in a heartbeat. He is blue-eyed, black and white (with a couple of moon spots), and the most beautiful frosted ears. If I don't find a buyer that is going to breed him, I...

    baby ears

We have twin ND bucklings that were born yesterday. One of them, his ears look totally normal like ND ears. The other one has floppy ears. Will they straighten out as he gets older? -K

Hireath Farm Doe due 2-11-13 (twin bucklings pics pg 3)

I was hoping for doelings, but the buck passed away a couple of weeks ago, so the breeder is interested in them.
