CA-Need new home for 14mo old Boer/Oberhasli Doe & Wether

Must go together! This is a bonded pair, Dallas and Dixie are siblings born on 2-14-11 and they have never been separated. They are very friendly, good with me, my husband and our kids (who are 4 and 5). I love them, but they are getting to be too much for our busy household. I'm going to be...

CA- Boer/Oberhasli doe & wether- 14 mos old

They are 14 months old and must go together. They are siblings, born on 2-14-11 to an Oberhasli doe and a Boer buck, I purchased them at about 4 months old. They are very friendly and tame, though I do not walk them on leads, so they are not accustomed to that. They are in about a 1/3 acre...

Let's Look at our Different Feeding Practices *GOATS*

Correct me if I'm wrong here- but from what I've read- nope, not topical- it repels the bugs when fed to the goats (or dogs, cats, people, etc). And, yes, as stated before, it can affect the taste of the milk. :)

    ELeVan ~ Honaker Farm Journal

I learned that lesson, too- no more shorts in with the chickens (although I still do it occasionally... it's HOT here!). They've pecked at freckles, scabs, toes, my rings- and, yes, it hurts when they get you good! :ep

    ELeVan ~ Honaker Farm Journal

I like pickles, but I have to say that fried ones don't sound very appetizing. But, just like most other odd fried foods, they probably are very good. :D I have a friend who always tries the new fried thing at our county fair and she hasn't found one that wasn't decent yet. Sounds like a...

    A video of my babies...

Here are Dallas and Dixie, my 6 month old Boer/Oberhasli goats. Dixie (my doe) has the purple collar and solid brown around her head. Dallas (my wether) has a blue collar and is mostly white around his head, with brown stripes on the sides. Do they look healthy and good condition/weight...

Show me your loose mineral feeder...

Thanks for all your replies. Very helpful. I think we'll look for something like the single or double compartment ones that we can mount to the fence for now. Sorry it took me so long to come back to this thread... I usually subscribe to my threads, so I just thought I wasn't getting any...

Show me your loose mineral feeder...

Hello! I'd like to see or hear about how you keep your loose mineral free choice for your goats. I have not found a way that works for me yet, but I've only tried a few things. Right now I'm adding it a little daily to their feed, but I'd prefer to have it out free choice and have been told...

    Various questions...

Hi all! It's been a while since I've been on here... sorry. ;) I was having a rough time with one of my young chickens the past few weeks and had to put her down and have her necropsied this week, so I was spending lots of time over on BYC. Looks like it was Marek's, for those of you who...

    ELeVan ~ Honaker Farm Journal

Glad the wing clipping went on without a hitch. :) You sounded like me with hoof trimming, I was nervous and kept putting it off... then we finally did it and other than getting them to stay still for a second, it was no big deal. I guess whenever something is new, right? Also happy to hear...

    Minerals & AC... questions

I was thinking I'd probably need to add it or get it to them/him a different way, since I've read on here that goats don't necessarily eat the minerals on a regular basis- and we'd want him to get AC on a regular basis. I'll see about ordering some once I have the feed store on board with...

    Minerals & AC... questions

Ok, well- there are no TSCs anywhere close to me at all, so no luck there. And on the ADM website there are no distributors in CA. So... Manna Pro Goat Mineral it will be. I checked the website again, since Roll Farms and Goatmasta brought up the fact that some already contain AC- and Manna...

    Minerals & AC... questions

Hi there! I am learning so much by reading on this site, but it seems that the more I learn, the more questions I have! So... I am in search of a loose goat mineral to offer my tiny herd of 2 (if you can even call it a herd ;) ). None of the feed stores in my area have one specifically for...
