Got up to clouds and grey. Drizzle.... It is now starting to clear off and the sun is trying to peek through.
Looked on the weather and the radar shows it pretty much gone to the north and out of here. Might be some actual sun later, but just some high clouds for awhile. Pa getting it and...
The passage area of the spine where the spinal cord and nerves pass through between vertebrae, where he had the concussion and that area, is a bit narrow... might be some arthritis type stuff also but some damage... but surgeries are dangerous there... so weighing some other options... this dr...
I'd pen that ewe separate and worm without waiting for a fecal... keep her in where it might be cooler/protected from the sun.
It is going to be an ongoing transition for the sheep... totally different climate and moving them before the worst of the TX heat makes the transition harder for...
@Skiesblue , I am sorry for your losing him, but it was the best for all. Funny thing, my german shepherd did the same... she had lymphoma, and got to where she got weak, couldn't eat, and it was time. I made appt with vet, he was going to do it when he got home and I was going to meet him...
What about asking at the auction barn? One of the workers might be able to help out one day for a few hours for some pay... you ought to know them pretty well by now... You aren't adopting them, just getting some "muscle" for some pay for a few hours.
I am thinking that you don't have any of the previously available help from the neighbor's kids/grandkids to help? One day's worth of pay for help? You can advise, Teresa can be the on site, in the middle supervisor, and a younger man can do the GRUNT work?
7x6 is not as big as 2 sheets of plywood laid on the ground next to each other... which are 8x8.... how much time is this steer going to be in this pen? That's barely enough room for him to turn around in and lay down. If he stays in here very long, you will be cleaning it out constantly, he...
I have NO CLUE. Are the 2 drugs different? If that is the case, then feeding the "type B' mixed with regular feed is one wormer that targets certain type worms and "type C" is a different wormer and targets different worms? Maybe they are trying to say to feed Type B mixed with feed, and ADD...
Still raining. Pretty steady rain, just straight down raining. It is going to be soggy tomorrow....
I am going to take a shower and quit here. Lots I could do, but I am not wanting to get into much. Tired and yawning.....
67 to start the day, hit 78 for a high. Comfortable today temp...
You are MIXING the type B medicated feed at 1 lb PER 14.13 lbs regular feed that you are feeding... to CREATE type C feed... which is the EQUIVALENT of the 300 gr per ton.......SO you feed the type C feed that you made up... in a quantity less than a ton of feed.... at the rate of approx .9...
Been an okay day... but getting really really wet this evening. Left at 6 with DS to go to his dr appt. We went to Rural King and I got 5 bags of the cheaper feed that the calf likes... DS got some 5 gal buckets of some hydraulic fluid... Boy oh boy, that stuff is getting more and more...
Maybe @Mini Horses and @canesisters can get together to make trip to Poultry swap together and save gas??? Only a month or so away....Meet at the produce auction and see if you can tolerate each other for a couple hour car...
Couple of things... having the rounded sides, loses some space for calves... they need to be able to stand up... hind end first, and they will not get as close to the sides if they feel that they do not have the "head space"... and not as many will go in because of the lack of "upper body...
Got some stuff done. Tomatoes tied up, picked some squash and found 3 more cucumbers. Got the soaker hoses all out and "kinda" put together... will get them rolled and put those clamp things I got from Harbor Freight last year to keep them together... they're neat.
Move vines and decided that...
Hot and sticky... 68 early and hit 90 again. Humidity levels are high and it has been mostly hazy sun today.
Got up and got the samples in and got them packed.... loaded into the car and took with me when I went to the dentist.
Routine cleaning, but found that I had a small area of decay in...
Don"t forget @Ridgetop ... you are going to be dealing with very different weather in TX. The year round breeding you had success with in CA is very likely NOT going to follow the same pattern in TX.
Home from testing... it went fine... no mistakes or problems with the computer work so that is good. Had a couple ID #'s that someone typed in wrong but I just looked at the numbers on cows before and after and saw where they hit the wrong number and just fixed it for them...
Got home about...
