The passage area of the spine where the spinal cord and nerves pass through between vertebrae, where he had the concussion and that area, is a bit narrow... might be some arthritis type stuff also but some damage... but surgeries are dangerous there... so weighing some other options... this dr is very well liked and respected and works on many of the college athletes... I actually talked to my massage therapist and she said if he has the DO on his "shirt" as I was looking at it with other "Initials" and such... then he is a specialist in orthopedic medicine, .... and that since he is doing some of the same things she was doing with me, then he is addressing the "flow" of the energy and spinal fluids and their relation to the nerves etc. I actually feel alot better about what this dr was doing after watching and listening to what he was talking about and the relation of the "facia" to the muscles and such.... how some of the facia will stick to muscles and restrict the movement and therefore the bloodflow and the flow of the fluids that feed the different areas and cushion the joints and such. He has had trouble with numbness in the one leg/foot ever since the accident also...

Got up to clouds and grey. Drizzle.... It is now starting to clear off and the sun is trying to peek through.
Looked on the weather and the radar shows it pretty much gone to the north and out of here. Might be some actual sun later, but just some high clouds for awhile. Pa getting it and then into the northeast... but may stay more inland than not so NY and NH and VT might get a good dose.
@Bruce ???? You getting weather from this storm. Haven't heard much from you....

I am going to go out and check the rain gauges here shortly.

Question -- you said a wc rep was at the appt and at all "now". Does this mean it's been happening since DS has had these last runs of disability time offs -- but not before, when injury occurred? No rep in attendance back then?

The reaction of our various "parts" of the mass of nerves, linings, surrounding tissues is so important. We don't give credit to what some seemingly minor inflammation/swelling can do detrimentally. Then more pains from body accomodations. Just not a simple thing. And taking simple methods -- aspirin, Tylenol, etc -- can help us with day to day injury.

Is this last visit to Dr and manipulations helping?

Yeah, the wc rep at the appts, is a new thing since the last rounds... started when they "put him out" on short term disability.... he has always had a wc guy he has to send forms and all this stuff to, doctors file with and all this...and there have been a few that have come to some of the appts in the past but not like now.....but that guy is very slow and things take "forever" to get pushed through..... but a rep coming to the dr visits all the time, and such is new...tracking all things being done and such... she talked about a couple of other clients she is having to travel to their appts and such also... guess this is for the ones that are more long term situations and such. She has been doing this for over 20 years she said. I think it is a part of the assessing the situation, and documentation that all these things are actually being done, and the possible of future improvement... she got some of the change in drugs pushed through and the botox treatments approved here that they were stalling for months...because if something that the doctor wants to do, will work, then they should be getting it done sooner .... she has facilitated that... naturally wc wants to get these sort of things "settled" so they are not paying out forever.... or to get them settled to where it translates to going to the long term side which is more "definitive"...

Yes, no rep in attendance regularly until the "forced short term disability" came about.... just coming occasionally while he was still working, to keep a "hand" in on the situation... he has had several different ones over the years... and of course, I am only finding out about some of this now since he had xGF "helping" with some of this, off and on for over 5-6 years, and I was not included... Honestly, I did not know of half of what has been done/getting done/going on until just recently.....there have been a progression of different doctors, some I only heard about in passing... a few have retired or moved... I have not been kept "in the loop" about alot of this so am getting a crash course to get "up to speed".
Would've been nice to have been a little more knowledgeable of what has been happening...

Been out and about. First, we did not get as much rain as it seemed. Total of 2.7 inches. The thing about it is we got steady rain, then let up, rain then drizzle, sprinkles. Actually could not have been anymore perfect than it was. Thought it might have been a little more, but overall, this area got a little less than the "dire warnings" suggested we might and that is just fine. Not alot of wind either, so not much damage to any field crops. I am more than thankful for what we got and how we got it.

Went out to the garden and the 3 rows of recently planted beans are pretty much all through the dirt... bet every bean seed sprouted.....:gig:gig:ep:ep:th:th. Of course you know I planted them a little thick .... in case......

I will put in the row of broccoli seeds in the next day or 2.... and maybe some lettuce for salads.
Picked some large cherry type tomatoes, ate a few... of course I have some of the large ones I got at the neighbors the other day. I was nearly a month behind him planting.

Eating some yellow squash for some lunch...

Turned out cloudy and a little sun all day yesterday. It hit 87 so plenty warm with the humidity.

67 to start and already 80 at 8 this morning. See the sun coming up over the trees Once the grass dries out some, I need to get on the lawn mower and get some things caught up.
I want to try to get some broccoli seeds in the garden so I can get some late broccoli . Going to plant a few more yellow squash as the big plants are fizzling out. Might or might not produce before a possible frost. You can't hardly figure the way the fall weather is going to go anymore. Have 3 short rows of green beans that just sprouted. The butternut squash are spreading and the striped crenshaws are taking over everything like Kudzu vines.
Got a farm scheduled to test this coming week and waiting for a couple more to get back to me. Chiropractor on Friday and moving a group of cows on Sat. that DS bought. Guy's lease runs out end of Aug and we need to get the cows moved, calves all taken to barn and worked, tagged etc... going to put them on a pasture we moved the preg cows out of and brought to barn to calve out... except for 1 that calved a little sooner than expected and did not want to go in catch pen and left another friendly one there with her... but still can't get her in... so they will stay with the new ones. Once the calf gets a little older, she will come up with it but she wants no part of people or the catch pen, even with feed in there to entice her, when she has a new baby. She mellows out after a few weeks.

Time to get out and see how wet the grass is....

Even though I like this battery mower, I still would much prefer someone else do the mowing... I never liked it as a kid when we had a choice to mow lawn, clean out car and vacuum and do windows, other things. Mowing was ALWAYS my last choice. Not going to jump up and down for joy to mow now... but at least it is bearable.

It got up to 89 and was hot out in the sun earlier... but it has gone back behind some clouds... I did not expect that. I came in to eat early lunch since I didn't eat earlier. Was thinking about some laundry but nothing that is desperate, so probably won't.. There is some hazy sun coming and going. I will go back out and see about doing some more in a little bit. Really need to get out the weed eater again... :th

Just got home from one of the owners of pasture we rent. They called and had a bunch of pears they picked... these are not ripe yet but pears do better if picked a little green and ripened inside. Got 4 / 2gal buckets of pears... 2 of bartletts and 2 of another... thought they might be bosc but I don't think so... D'Anjou is my guess. Not as big but alot more "blush" on the skins. They have some peaches but have another tree that is a late peach and she is getting her knee replaced in 2 weeks and said that she is not going to be doing anything with the peaches on that tree, they have already picked the other couple of trees clean.... so they will let me know and I can have them....
So, I am going to go out and see about getting the weed eater out now, since I got interrupted... in a good way. Sun is back out, warm, but day is waning so not as bad. 86 right now at 4:30.

Back in for the night awhile ago. Took the mower out and did some around the garden... going to move the netting a bit and then do the inside. Also took the weed eater out with me, and ran out 3 batteries. Did alot around the butternut vines, got most of the tiger lily plants cut off again... moved a few of the vines around to get the taller grass... might try to put some of the mulch hay down tomorrow to make it easier to find them and keep them off the wetter grass when the actual squashes grow and "sit" on the ground... they are really putting out some "fruit" .....

Then I put in a short row of broccoli seeds, and a short row of green lettuce and a short row of red lettuce. See what comes up.
The green beans I planted where the others didn't come up, are all up and looking good.
There are spots where the potatoes did not come up... maybe because it was so dry when I got these couple of rows planted. Oh well, not the end of the world. I scuffed up the soil inbetween the hay mulch and this is where I put in the short rows of broccoli and stuff... the broccoli will get transplanted around... we'll see if the lettuce comes up much... it is also older seed. With my luck, it will all come up like those green beans...:gig:gig:gig

There are alot of weeds in those rows, where the potatoes did not come up in spots, and I am not going to worry about them. The last couple of rows I planted and got the hay down between the rows, are coming up pretty good... but they got moisture right from the time they were planted... and are ahead of the weeds. They will be late but that is okay too... Got tons of green tomatoes on the plants, finally....a few that were ripe the other day... Not near the weeds where it got tilled good... it chopped the weeds up pretty good and I pulled any that were starting to come up as I planted the potatoes, and then got the walkways inbetween them pretty good. The garden always starts to get weedy/messy by mid Aug anyway... except any you retill for later crops.

Went through another pile of papers and put a bunch in to be burnt....Got alot of stuff to sort through still. I need to not just bring stuff in and pile it....

Ate another big bowl of yellow squash for supper... No humidity... tomorrow is supposed to be nicer. I hope to get on the mowing and stuff and make a BIG DENT in it... Think I will put a load of clothes in the washer... just to stay ahead... be good drying day tomorrow...

It is a nice 70 out there...
