Thank you.
After watching some videos on goat fencing I am mulling over putting up a temporary electric fence once I get goats. They could keep that area trimmed. I need to take my pruners and cut every single blankety blank vine there. There are dozens of wisteria roots running from the woods...
Coffee at hand, have a little time before I get dressed for church. I keep looking outside at the change in my yard since yesterday.
Next? Fence replacement.

I watched a video today about goat fencing.

The guy uses electric a lot in his pastures, had the bottom wire low and a strong charger at first to train the goats.
Made me think about making an electric fence outside the chain link, for browsing to help keep the woods from creeping back.

Sorry about your DS VA issues.
My dh is on disability, and they're supposed to audit how I have spent the payments. I read that they can take it back if you don't spend enough!
A couple of videos for those who are interested.

Taking down a tree:
I was fascinated, spent most of the day watching them work.
Don't worry, the vines will grow back.
Yes, we do have a fig tree. Last year we had tons of fruit. This year the raccoons got them.
That was Chris.
We had a huge mulberry tree behind the old shed, leaning on top. Here's Chris, standing on the Bobcat, using a chainsaw. He also did most of the work with a cigarette dangling out of...
I'll be doing a little clean up in the newly cleared area, to remove some little shrub sprouts, and roots that might impede my lawnmower. Oh, and rake it a little, though Frank already did a bit of smoothing with the Bobcat.
And then...fence.

The PVC is our washing machine and kitchen sink gray water pipe. It was broken during the excavation of a tree. The guys went and bought more PVC and replaced it.

When my dad passed away he left me his Mercury sedan, a Sable maybe? Even as a mechanic HE couldn't figure out why the battery drained so quickly. I had a knife switch installed and had no issues until the day I donated it to charity.
Stupid FORD :barnie
Tree Guy is coming tomorrow, to remove trees and cut back the brush along the southside property line. He's also going to remove damaged fencing so I can get replacement fence installed.
I'll post pictures as I am able.

I've been distracted with the news from western NC and Tennessee, so not doing as much on here.
Working through candidate paperwork, travel authorizations, personality issues. I have loved my work, and it pays well, but I am SO ready to retire. Then I can play with my chickens and possible...
I developed my coffee habit as a restaurant employee who was up at 4am to get the diner open at 6am. Over the years I quit sugar/sweeteners, cream (lactose intolerant), and learned to avoid Starbucks like the plague.
I drink an average of three cups per day, but I use a small cup, so about...
