Oh, I know that feeling! Watching the bulldozer last year on my front fence row was phenomenal. Then I hired a fencing crew to put up new fence and that also was phenomenal. What they accomplished in TWO DAYS would have taken me months to do. Check out my fencing thread. It’s still an ongoing process, I have the back field to do.

Here’s my fence thread. I suggest that you do the same or your fencing will get buried in pages and pages of your journal. It feels pretty good to see where I started, and the progress I’ve made.

Thank you!

I have a journal thread on BYC, and started adding links to accomplishments on one post.

I can see that happening here, too...

(the shed isn't mine, was there when I bought the place 18 years ago, AND technically it's not on my property)

I told the company owner, Frank, that I wanted to leave the privet in that corner as a screen, between my neighbor's yard and mine.

That oak worried me, as with hurricanes trees tend to fall to the south. My house would have been hit!

Only allowed 10 pictures per post, oh well.

The PVC is our washing machine and kitchen sink gray water pipe. It was broken during the excavation of a tree. The guys went and bought more PVC and replaced it.

I'll be doing a little clean up in the newly cleared area, to remove some little shrub sprouts, and roots that might impede my lawnmower. Oh, and rake it a little, though Frank already did a bit of smoothing with the Bobcat.

And then...fence.

Yes, we do have a fig tree. Last year we had tons of fruit. This year the raccoons got them.

That was Chris.

We had a huge mulberry tree behind the old shed, leaning on top. Here's Chris, standing on the Bobcat, using a chainsaw. He also did most of the work with a cigarette dangling out of his mouth, but it doesn't show here. It made me laugh.

A couple of videos for those who are interested.

Clearing the vines:

Taking down a tree:

I was fascinated, spent most of the day watching them work.

Don't worry, the vines will grow back.
