It seems there are babies everywhere! How on earth do you keep track of who had which kids once you get that many? Do the does ever forget which are their own? It's so neat to see them just fall in a heap and sleep with all the other goats going about their business around them.
Looks like the next one might be moving in. Where do you take the moms and babies after they leave the kiddinng pen? What do you do if you have more than one doe kidding at the same time?
Oh my goodness Mamaboid, that must have been a shock. A fall like that messes with your whole system. Hope you have a plentiful supply of Advil or painkiller of your choice, you're gonna need it. Feel better soon.
Built mine using the plans from Fias Co site, the area for the head is pretty long (up and down) so the goats head would either be at the top if full size or at the bottom if dwarf, height for you from the floor remains pretty much the same.
Hi all, just looking for info from any ND breeders in New England who may have sent goats to Canada. I am looking for a couple of registered or registerable does to come join my little herd in Nova Scotia and I know there are permits needed and they would need to be health certified. New...
Congratulations on the speedy and healthy delivery, I watched it all. You'd have thought it was mine, the way I was so tense. I kept calling to my DH, she's having them, do you want to watch, oh, she's having another, come see, but he just kept saying, no, that's all right, just let me know...
Hi all, just recently someone had pics on with their feeders showing, but I failed to make note of where they were and now can't find them, I liked the look of them and thought I might try making a few. Looked like 2x4's with a trough, could you all post some pics and plans if you have em? Thanks.
Oh, she is just gorgeous, and so tiny! I have an ND doe ready to be bred, she is quite a bit bigger than your Spotz, but my buck is only tiny so they haven't managed it yet! I so want to have my own kidding thread someday soon... will be following along to see how she does. Good luck!
I don't think it's a good idea to worm them just in case. It's pretty cheap to get a fecal examination to check worm load and the vet will then recommend worming or not. Mine had not been wormed since I got them, and I was thinking the same thing, just in case, but the exam showed extremely...
20kids, this is the first time I've seen you reference beet pulp, something I've been giving my goats for a while now. You say dried, do you mean you just give them the pellets? I've been soaking mine before giving them, as I was told at the feed store that it was dangerous to give them dry...
I am new to goats, but for sure the pygmy doe I bought who was bred, (unbeknownst to me at the time) had two does and they definitely have different sires. One is as ND looking as the purebred ND I have and the other is very Nubian, long ears and nose. I rather think tho that it would have...
I dont know anything re health certificates, but did move our new ND buckling 1500 kms in the car. He was quite small but we put him in the dog crate, with lots of hay and a tarp underneath the crate (he was in the back of our SUV) We stopped overnight on the way and took him in the hotel with...
