This girl is about a year old. Her due date was around the April 10. She had her kid (dead) yesterday around Noon. I found her about 4:30. I bounced her and didn't feel another kid. She acts fine, ran up with all the other girls today at feeding time. Her afterbirth is hanging 24 hours later. I...
Out of the three choices, I would have to choose trauma. I had one that went full term two weeks ago. I have two more to kid the first of April. Hopefully they will make it full term. My other four girls kidded in Dec/Jan and I have not put them back with the buck yet.
I've been reading the last two weeks that two other posters had their goats kid about a month early. Well today it was my turn. I checked the girls last night and everyone seemed fine. Today about 4:30 PM I go out to check and see a white spot on the ground out in the pasture. I have an idea...
I need to do this with my buck sometime this up coming week. Is it the same bands that you would get for calves? I did it with calves, probably will be a lot easier with a goat.
I'm not sure what was wrong with him. It was her first kidding, the buck looked bigger than the doe. When I found him he was laid out like he was dead, but had very shallow breathing. My guess would be the buck came first and she had trouble with him. After she passed him out, she probably had...
Back in October 25, I asked if y'all that this girls was pregnant. She was about 1 month pregnant at the time, as she had her kids today. She had twins a doe and a buck. The buck did not make it, but one live kid is better than none. Here is a picture of her and her doe kid.
Next ones to kid...
Is it frozen or refrigerated? Warm it slowly. I usually have it stored in a bottle. I put the bottle in a bucket of hot water and let it warm. I may have to put hot water in the bucket several times. The important thing is you do not want to kill the antibodies in the milk by over heating.
Sorry about the pictures not being there anymore. I moved them within my photo bucket library. Here's some updated photos.

My dad has cattle and uses a lot of grain. He uses an old 400 galvanized water tank that had a few holes in it. He stores the tank under a barn. A little over a ton will fit in it.

20kidsonhill, I've got a bottle baby that is 53 days old today. I've been feeding 20 oz three times a day. Feed is cheaper than the milk, would you recommend me start cutting her back and within two weeks be off milk?
I read on this site that they need milk for three months. At two months old...
I'm relatively new to goats, I have a buck and 7 does. I've had the buck for about a year and a half. He will be 2 years old in March. At about 14 months old I could never get close to him, he would run away. About at 16 months, while with the girls, he would come up to me and I would rub his...
I have the same issue, but I think mine may have mastitis in the side that is not being nursed. That teat was a little swollen when I bought her, but hey, she was cheap and a former show girl. She's got a nice healthy girl that is two weeks old that can replace her, so I think I at least broke...
