Hi all -
Looking for gait eval on my TWH while lunged by my trainer who does not have gaited horse experience.
NOTE: He is not happy being in the arena with all the horses turned into the barn...

I bought the saddle with hopes it was going to be a good fit and I think it is.
Please see pics below and let me know what you think of the fit. The swell is 13" and any narrower would have been too narrow.
I put on without the thick pad I had from my TWH mare so you could see the fit. Need...
Thank you for the input and I like your new avatar picture.
My guy is broad like my spotted saddle horse was. When I bought her Crates saddle, I took her to the tack shop where they came out with the various frames to get the best fit.
I called the tack store that I'm meeting this gal at...
I'm going to look at this Fabtron #7110 saddle tomorrow from Craigslist ad and wanted input from folks that may have owned or do own one and tell me what you think.

The saddle looked in great condition. Gal said her mare...
I'm also in rainy Washington. I didn't want to build anything I couldn't move, so I took two cattle panels I already had and my daughter and I ziptied them down the middle and then tacked them to 2 x 4's and then stood it up and screwed 2 x 4's to hold the ends upright. Added a tarp that is...
Thank you all for your thoughtful replies. I have decided not to go look at her for reasons you all expressed and I was already feeling.
I did talk to the guy last night for over 45 minutes.
Found out he had never owned prior to this purchase 6 months ago. He's in a rental house that's being...

LillyWhites - ADGA# N1274984 is an almost seven year old Nubian doe. She is currently giving milk. If we were into showing, she is a winner. Excellent milk and extremely amazing temperament. Very sociable. Gets along with children, dogs...
My goats are just wierd compared to all of yours.
When I got my 6 month old nubians - wether and doeling back in Oct, they had been eating local hay. I bought a bale and they wouldn't eat it. They ate my HUGE weeping willow instead.
When they had the willow pruned to look like an umbrella...

Above is a link regarding the "devil's ivy" as we call it.
Those goats have the longest ears. They look like they'd get stepped on when bending down to eat or lay down. SO CUTE
Tails are pretty long too.
I'd remove the cloth or...
9' again at my place this morning. I had water for about an hour this morning and just as I was getting ready to fill 2 clean gallon milk jugs to go add to the chicken and goats waterers and then jump in the shower for work, the water decreased to a trickle and then NOTHING.
Water must have...
From a 4-H family down in Oregon City. When I got mine in Oct, they had a couple yearlings available that they offered to have bred if I wanted.
Being a beginner, I wanted to start out with the 6 month olds.
The Mom's milk was WONDERFUL. They're great goats. I bought a goat stand from a...
It was 9' at my place at 6 am. Close to a 1/2" of ice in their water bucket despite adding very warm water to it last night.
I put down lots of straw in their sleeping den that's 3' x 4' covered and made out of pallets they like to go into to sleep that's located in the chicken run that's...
BURRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!
Down to 18' tonight and high of 29' tomorrow in Olympia, WA.
Do you all do anything special for your goats when it gets this cold?
Heaters, blankets, special food, keeping them in the barn, etc.
I'm new to goats and wondering what and when to worm.
4-H family I got the 6 month olds from said they used valbazen twice a year. My now 7 1/2 month olds were wormed by them in Aug 09.
I looked at their gums and they were very pale. Not pick at all.
I'm interested in getting a scope to...
Back to wormers -
I have had my first two goats since Oct 09. They are brother and sister, wether and doeling Reg Nubians. I was told by the 4-H family I got them from they had been wormed in August with Valbazen.
I haven't wormed them yet. I admit I'm a little nervous about what to use...
I was looking to start out with kinders as well, but couldn't find any locally that were affordable.
I ended up getting 6 month old brother and sister, reg wether and doeling nubians.
I may breed the doeling next year to a reg pigmy for my own 1st generation kinder.
When I had my horses, I had bought a deck bench that was big enough to hold a large and long bale of hay. A little spendy though.
If you have scrap wood around or access to free pallets, you could make a box with lid to hold a bale of hay you could put a latch on it to keep the goaties out of it.
I feed my 3 dogs in the garage twice a day before I feed the goats. I had to buy these bowls with the three plastic pegs to stop them from wolfing their food down too fast.
They still wolf it down by moving around the bowls in circles to get to the food. Done in less than a minute and running...
