I heard Ohio was getting hammered today.

It was 10 degrees here this morning! Not used to this cold weather, I'm originally from TX!

We are getting high winds more than anything. So far no real snow. I hope it stays that way. My big barn doors almost blew in and I had to scramble to find something heavy enough to put against the door to keep it in place.

I have my goats closed up in their stall. They are nice and snug and enjoying eating their hay. No one is shivering or anything.

Temp at my place is 38 degrees. It was in the high 40's this morning. So the cold is coming through. The temp is supposed to keep dropping and be in the 20's tomorrow.

we are getting the wind and cold, but i sure am sorry for the folks in the upper midwest, wind, cold and lots of snow. i am so not ready for winter. was out all day trying to build a quick wind block for the rabbits, the weanlings got back out with the herd of ponies, and the herd of ponies got out of the pasture, so they are all in the corral with a round bale and a tub of water. will seperate weanlings tomorrow, maybe.

42 degrees when I got up this morning, 20's now, wind chill in the single digits...but we got no snow, and at least now the mud is frozen.

9' again at my place this morning. I had water for about an hour this morning and just as I was getting ready to fill 2 clean gallon milk jugs to go add to the chicken and goats waterers and then jump in the shower for work, the water decreased to a trickle and then NOTHING.

Water must have froze somewhere between my house and the pasture where the well pump house resides.

Called work and told them I wouldn't be in and then gathered the water the chickens and goats did have and heated it up on the stove.

Ran to Fred Meyers and got a couple Coleman 5 gal water holders with handles and ran downtown to the Artision well. Back home to heat more fresh water.

I'm now sitting in bed watching the news - weather report 14' tonight and 35' tomorrow - electric blanket on high warming my toes.

Great night and stay warm.

3 days w/ highs in the 40's lows in the mid/low 20's. Yuck! I'm a wimpy Californian, what can I say. Having to carry water in 5 gallon buckets to the goats & chickens bothers my tweaked back. :(

Not to mention the work protecting the winter vegetable garden. *sigh*

It's so cold here i am telling ya i'm feeling to OLD for toteing warm water to ducks, chickens goats, dogs and a spoiled Tom Turkey who thinks he needs to come in the house..... The goats are loving the idea of frozen mudd tho :)

It's now 10 degress and tomarrow highs are only going to reach maybe 25 ...... but no snow and no wind :)
