Sept and Oct have been warm here as well. We had our first 0C night, but it is getting a little bit warmer once more before we probably get snow 🥶haven't had a chance to build this wall for sheep, but figuring out something soon.
New sheep took 1,5 weeks for her stomach to heal. I'm sure this...
It's okay to ask. To be honest, I'm estonian actually, currently living in Latvia, but soon heading back home to Estonia🙂 as for English, we start learning it from first grade(in Estonia, I'm not sure about Latvia though..), so I really don't know how someone can not speak it eventually when...
You know, those pallets here cost 30€ one pallet😃 fortunately I have connections, I can get pellets(for a wall) and lumber for new hut for free, so it's not a problem.
And thank you all for your answers, I really appreciate it! ♥️
This is the place where they have to live, they can't be inside the building because on the left are bunnies and birds, on the right is hay and feed. So, I'll make this hut a little bit bigger and insulate it with their own wool and for the winter I put a wall up(marked with red) so they have...
To be honest, I was telling you -22F and it is -30C, according to google😃 fortunately as cold as -30C usually is 2-3 weeks max, but there has been winters where we have 1-1,5 months this cold. Every autumn I just hope for easy winter🥶
Your lamb in pink coat was so adorable🥰
I agree. Every winter I think WHY I live where I live😃 winter for animals is harsh here. But we'll manage somehow. My older sheep has very thick wool, on her face also, but new one does not, so I'm worried about that too. But we'll make it work. 🙂
I also think the nutrition is the most important thing right now and I'm doing my best to get her stomach and stools normal. Her stomach makes unbelievable noises to be honest, this poor thing must be so uncomfortable😕
Right 😃 I would be happy if we had 4 degrees C here in winter, but no, -30C and snow to the knees.🙃🫠 I'm going to try and fatten this poor thing up before its getting this cold, I'm glad she is not going to lamb soon, this way, IF she is pregnant, her lamb is getting a chance with her mother...
I don't know...she's been panting, sticking back legs out when laying down and nibbling or licking her stomach both laying down and standing up. What is that?? Just digestion problems?
-22F seems bit too cold, but yes, if she is pregnant, when due date is coming closer I will close her in shed at nights at least. And hope for the best...my wost nightmare is that I go outside in morning and will find a dead baby 😓
Yes, I isolated bunnies instead, easier to keep them somewhere else than this hungry fella. That's what I'm afraid, that I have couple of months when she lambs..it will be in the middle of winter here and temps may be -22 degrees fahrenheit. And we don't have any heating. To be honest, I'm worried.
Her stomach does not stand sheep feed or fresh treats very well. One day she got into raw beetroot and oh my...that diarrhea. I have not seen normal feces from her like my other one does. Today she stole carrots from bunnies, right now no diarrhea but I will keep an eye on her. So we will try to...
