Overrun with beasties
Frequently does are confused with first...
I took your advice Ridgetop and I finally plucked up the courage to have a look in the nest. I removed the kits one by one and placed them in the nest box and put it where the nest was. I made sure the doe saw where they were when she went back in with them.
The nest was nice and warm but underneath definitely needed cleaning. So a big thank you!
The good news is there were no dead kits. The surprising news is that there are 11 of them! Two definitely look a bit smaller so I'm not sure if they'll make it but time will tell.
The doe has been getting lots of treats and as many pellets as she wants. She's also drinking a lot. Are there any other things that I need to do now the nest is clean?
Here is a quick picture of them in their nest before they were moved. I didn't take any pictures during the transfer. I was too busy trying not to drop the wriggling things!
