She’s on hay and water because her poop started looking like dog turds, I’m assuming from all the extra feedings she tricked us into. We gave her some veggie trimmings and yesterday her poop looked like cow patties. So I’ve cut out the treats to see if it forms back up, if not I’ll run a fecal to the vet.
I drew blood to have a biosecurity panel run, so if she’s cae positive I can pull the kids and bottle them. My mentor suggested it. I was going to send it off but with tomorrow being a holiday I’m waiting til Friday.
Kids are definitely growing in there! Nothing else has really changed. She’s the new April the giraffe.
The doe (third) was just a tail and a hock. I called Sally Sunshine (if y’all know her) and she talked me through turning the kid. I could only get back hooves but I got her out with no trouble.
Even thought the heat index is 104, they all started getting chilled. My heat bulbs were both broken so my summer staff (camp counselors) took turns holding wrapped babies in the sun. They have all had colostrum and sel e. Gertrude has her molasses water and cmpk. Someone had to pick up the pen for me. I still need to weigh and dip navels.
I finally stopped long enough to drink water and eat a bite. I’m going to get her fresh bedding when the last guy gets here.
