Ya know --- when I was looking to put up a barn one of my horsey friends said that people sell/give away their old barns here. Just disassemble and take it home. Yeah - no matter what its $ - but just thinking maybe there are some used barns out your way??

Those metal barns are often for sale cheap or free if you disassemble and move. Problem is that the metal rusts together so you have to cut the bolts to get them apart, then redrill holes and buy new bolts to put them together again. Depending on the condition of the barn it would be worth it.

Also, they are heavy and you need a crew of people to help with the disassembly and reassembly. Also a flatbed trailer to transport. However, with Layne and his new large tractor to move pieces, you might be able to get enough friends out for a work day to take it apart and load it up. Then with another set of new friends (to replace the ones you lost on the first disassembly and loading ) do another work day barn raising. ;)

The ones I saw out here were actually either wood or composite - slats sliding into channels. Fancy horse folk type. Nice - but in the end we did new. Used would've saved some $ - but who knows what would get uncovered or needed fixing.
Still HEAVY and a lot of work.

No used barns here. All used up and falling in maybe, but nothing I’d waste my time and effort on.

Rain yesterday, 1 inch. Last night and today, 3 inches, total of 4 inches.

Barns in southern California weather are a luxury. In east Texas they are a necessity! I am so grateful for ours. I dont know how @Bay manages without one.

Actually I’m a weather indicator. If I’m sweating, it’s hot. If I’m wet, it’s raining. If Im bundled up where only my eyeballs are showing, it’s cold.
