Cutting off the heads in pictures was my mother's forte. Of course back then you didn't know it until the prints came back. No chance for a second shot.

My dad and step-mother could have used those shirts 40 years ago :D

The younger Ridgetop is WAY HELPFUL! Must have been raised right.

Congrats on a successful sheep transfer. I bet when they get in with your Katahdins they will figure out you are not a danger and they will calm right down.

I started working on calming them down today. I sat next to their alfalfa hay with my arm through the middle of it. I was even able to touch a couple of them.

50????? Good Grief!
I've said for years I was going to take the leap and raise actual meat birds, but have only ever just raised up the males when some hatch here. And barnyard mix roos are still barely worth it, even at a year. I'm determined to do it this year .... and thought I was being ambitious by planning on 10.

I have 20 sold. And I’ll pack my DD’s freezer. They like the breast and thighs. So I’ll have 30 chickens worth of backs and drumsticks to can for the dogs. I like the wings, thighs and breast.
The 20 that are sold are to 2 different customers. One wants their chickens whole, and the livers. The other hasn’t specified whole or pieces, but wants the liver, gizzards, hearts and necks.

The livers, gizzards, hearts, necks, and wing tips from the 30, will be dog food.

Well, you DO have 4 large dogs to feed! Maybe you need 20-30 more, about 30 days after first. 🤔🤫

I bought 40# of chicken thighs, couple weeks ago. Cooked some for these cats and froze a bunch to do again. Cheap at 29 a pd...couldn't raise for that. I will cook some for ckn& dumplings 😁

Ya THINK?!?
I got the big tubs I brood them in. No electric outlet on the front of this double wide, so I bought a screw in outlet/light bulb thingy so I can use an extension cord. Hmmmm…. Where are my lights? And the screens I put over the top?

I have one PVC frame made, parts cut for second one. So I got some work to do.
