They can manipulate chain latches on gates, too! 🤬
One of my bottle calves learned how to turn on the tall faucet beside his water bunk. When he was hot and the flies were thick, he’d just mosey to the faucet, turn it on (full blast of course) and stand with his face in the water. We wondered if he was part water buffalo.

Night before last, when I brought Dandelion in, she had a full tummy. She only took 3 ounces that night. Yesterday morning she took 4 ounces and I carried her back to Lucy, her mom. I turned Lucy and the triplets, Eve and her single, out on the field yesterday afternoon. I picked Dandelion up yesterday evening and she had a full tummy. I left her with Lucy and her triplet brothers.

This morning Dandelion was fine, she went out on the field with her brothers and Lucy. That little lamb is working to get her milk. I will continue to keep a close watch on her, but I think she is going to be just fine.

I’ve worked at trying to organize the portable building. I had these nice brackets for hanging up tools. So I put up a 2x4 on the backside of the building only to find out the brackets were juuuuuusttt wider than a 2x4. Took it down. Had a 12’ 1x6 and I screwed that on the backside of the building, into the 2x4 stud frame. Then I put up the brackets and the hangers. Looks real nice. On the other end I put up a 2x4 piece and hung up rakes, using 3” screws. Not as nice, but works.

I didn’t hang all my garden type tools up, I’m going to put up a lean to off the backside of the building, for more storage. The tools would be in the way.

Need to do a LOT more work in the building!

But I emptied two 55 gallon steel drums and there is floor space in the corner! It’s the small victories.

I never had any sheep but, seems goats will eat more challenging things than sheep. They can move their tongues and lips uniquely. Leaves on wild blackberry vines are plucked neatly! Heck, I can barely pick the berries without coming out bloody from thorns. It's pretty amazing really.

Sheep graze, goats browse. I can let my sheep in my backyard and not really worry about my landscaping, but when my 3 goats broke it, they wiped out the new fruit trees, ate all my roses and pretty much destroyed everything in sight in just an hour 😵‍💫

I went to a friend’s house and dug 2 crepe myrtles out of her flower bed. I brought them home, built a hog panel fence around them, in the front yard. Carefully planted them, watered them. Happy and satisfied with my work, I went in and got something to drink. Looked out the window to see the sheep climbing the hog panels and eating my crepe myrtles.
