Peggy and Bennett moved my refrigerator from son’s house to my house this morning. Road was sketchy but I didn’t topple the refrigerator over. It was on my flatbed trailer, Bennet had it strapped securely but the lumpy bumpy deep rutted road did make it wobble and tilt back and forth.

Then the propane truck showed up and instead of the 75 gallons I ordered, at $236.25, he confused my order with another and filled the tank. New amount $405. He felt terrible and apologized profusely. I wasn’t mad, sh!t happens. I paid $250 and the office will invoice me next month for the rest.

Then I cleaned the refrigerator, shelves and bins were already out, I scrubbed everything. Put shelves and bins back in.

Pie crusts! Just finished making 4 pie crusts and they are in the refrigerator.

Time to feed Spot, fixed his bottle and he’s happy now.

45 minutes until I feed the dogs at 3:00. I found some freezer burnt stew meat yesterday and simmered it for the dogs. Got a quart jar of meat and broth. They will get half of it today, half tomorrow, over their kibble.

Wow! Clean new fridge ready to fill. Fuel for a warm toasty home. Plus PIES!!!! What a great day.

Who is Spot?? What did I miss?
Spot is a ram lamb, born November 17. His mom, Granny had twins and rejected him. She and the ewe lamb she likes are penned up with Spot. I go out 4 times a day and bottle feed him.

@Ridgetop and her husband are coming tomorrow for the weekend. My friend Sarah, her boyfriend, 24 year old autistic daughter and Sarah’s mom are coming for the weekend. We are going to cook, eat, visit and have a White Elephant gift party.

There's a reason you now have a full propane tank... not sure why but eventually you'll say "Aha!" and be glad.

Yesterday I chopped up the rest of the turkey (white meat) and fed some to my flock ("WOW!") and froze the rest for another time. Tonight's chicken feed treat was leftover sausage stuffing and collard leaves. The rest of the leftovers I will toss, and I'm not making as much next time. It used to be consumed quickly but not anymore.

Dropping into the mid 20s tonight...brr.

I buy 75 gallons of propane every year. I have a gas stove and water heater, plus a propane heater I turn on for cold mornings to warm the house. I use it when it’s really cold to keep the central heating from coming on. So yesterday I got 135 gallons, almost 2 years worth. Eh. Shrug.

Yep, needed to get refrigerator out of sons house, the pile is dwindling down. Plus no room in side by side refrigerator.

It’s 35F here, supposed to rain Saturday and Sunday. Gonna make the pies today, do laundry, last minute sweep and mop, thank you Carson for the dog hair and wet footprints. ❤️

Pie crust Fáil. I use half butter and half hog lard. I raised the pig, rendered the fat and canned snowy white lard. Makes fantastic pie crust. Sarah’s mom is a vegetarian, so I found a recipe that used all butter. Had to pre bake the pie crust. I checked after a few minutes and the edges folded over and slid down to the bottom of the pie pan. I pulled them out, tried to mash the sides back up, sorta kinda half way maybe, maybe not. Oh well. I kept taking the pie crusts out, vainly rearranging the sides. What the heck.
