Sad, but what @Finnie said is true. The conditions culled the flock for you, and yes, it was a great financial kick for you... but as you said, genetics of what is left, even if not as "grown" as you would like, will come through.
Financially you will do better with them as soon as you get a barn/drier-HIGHER ground for them.... but you will also be more inclined to give the less hardy ones more of a chance. Just stick with the stringent culling when conditions are good too.... and turn them over if they are not "super sheep".....
