We had been doing good with using it until this last weekend, which was clearly way more important than a few gallons of milk. So far we've frozen about 4 gallons in ice cube trays for future soap batches, and we've frozen several quart bags. Not really sure what we are going to do with those but its better than dumping it down the drain.

We are going to try feeding some of it to the chickens tonight. We might soak some layer pellets with it and see how that goes. The cats all worship me now too, and follow me everywhere I go like a pack of dogs. I haven't given it our dogs yet but only because they are crated at night and I don't know how their body would react to the milk. I don't like waking up to "surprises."

I actually heard one of my Toggs making noise last night when we got home. I had milked them exceptionally early (4:30 a.m.) because we had to go to Denver and Boulder. They weren't happy that I woke them up to milk. It was 7:00 p.m. last night when we got home and she let me know that I was late for milking. It was hard to hear her 2 cries though over the constant whining of the nigerians and the boers. Then she quit when she saw me heading for them. I told her if she kept that up I'd re-name her "Nubian." :)

Looks like you have quite a collection of eggs as well! I have a couple of flats sitting on my dining room table right now as I don't refrigerate them, but you have me beat by a huge margin. Do you sell them? gift them? use them... ALL? :ep:thMy egg sales lady is moving, so I have to find another outlet for mine... She was helping me unload 2-3 flats a week and my neighbors were buying the rest.

Edit to add congrats on the grand baby! Don't enjoy those long distance drives as much as I used to...

We "sell" them to friends and family. I say sell lightly because we really aren't pricing them near market price. I think she charges $1.50 a dozen. We do use a lot of them but there's always extras. I think we get around 15 eggs a day. The duck eggs get scrambled on Sunday's for the dogs. They love Sunday!
