Mine gave birth about 2.30 pm this time, last time her first time was about 9.30 am.

Good idea for a survey the results will be interesting and usefull too.

This past spring, all of mine freshened during the day. No long nights of waiting. Good girls!

I had 6 go at night (one at 3 am!) and 17 go during the day last year.

By night, I mean anything after 8 pm, once I've taken off my 'barn gear'. They love to make me change clothes.

I loooove having a baby monitor down there for the night kidders.

I have all my kidding stalls on a barn cam now, so at least I can keep a close eye on them from the comforts of my living room chair. Sure beats all the trips back and forth to the barn. I started out with the baby monitor, but those brats would make strange noises just to see if I'd come running. When I'd get there, they'd just look at me like, "What?"

Don't you just LOVE the ones who make "Oh I'm pushing" sounds, and you get down there and discover they're just scratching an itch and grunting about it? I've learned to wait a few minutes to see if the sound is repeated.
And I really love the roo who crows at 4 am every day......right in my ear.
