I noticed earlier in the week, when I went to our local big box superstore, that they have a big display in the front of the store, proclaiming they now carry their "own" beef with a "If you don't absolutely love it, return the package for a 100% refund" guarantee, and after looking in the meat dept, I saw they have dropped the CAB thing altogether.

Back in the late 60s, my father started off with reg polled herefords. Dunno why, but man, they had some serious calving problems. Had to pul or assist just about every time they got ready to drop one. Been too long now for me to remember anything about the Hereford bull he had, but Dad finally said to heck with it, put a Brahma bull on them and the problems went away.

My cousin in North East Texas has a pretty nice purebred Hereford operation, but quit registering the calves due to increased per calf registration costs.
