YAY on a nice looking set of twins... so glad that as a first freshener, the ewe is doing good... That's a BIG help.

One of the reasons we watch the first calf heifers much closer... to make sure they "get it" about the calf going to the "back end" to find the teats to nurse when the momma wants it to stay in the "front" of her to lick and talk to... Also another reason why I like the heifers to be a little older... I seem to have the better luck of a little bit older one being more settled down... seems instincts kick in better in my cattle...
Your ewe looks like she is a nice one...

Yes, it's definitely a big help. She's 13 months old which is the age my ewes usually are when they have their first babies, but she's almost as big as my 3 year olds! She nursed her mom last summer and fall after I tried weaning her so that probably contributed to it. 😂 She's my best keeper ewe from last year and very flashy too.

Two more ram lambs born last night. Marian is a pro now. Got back from church and she already had one cleaned off, 15 minutes later the other one came out in 3 or 4 pushes. They are so cute with their spotted noses. I'm kinda sad they aren't girls, but Marian gave me girls two years in a row so I can't complain. These boys will be good lamb chops come next winter!
One thing I've been noticing with these lambs is how looong they are, especially the ewe. I'm pretty pleased with how my new ram has improved that so far. Excited to see them mature.
