Please extend good wishes. I was so concerned that he had some sort of a tragedy happen because it was about the time that covid and all started to get crazy.
Is he still on the big farm? Did they just continue to have hay made or get any animals or anything? I think about the errant PIG running around digging up things... and his water pipe leaks...

At least we knew that Fred was going to quit using the internet when CntryBoy777 signed out. Haven't talked to them lately.
Another missed is Southern by Choice....

And Greybeard. I miss his sarcastic posts. Sometimes catch him on cattle today. Good to hear that they are a still around though. Always worry when someone goes missing. It is not unheard of for something to happen to those of us in our Primes.

I still interact with Southern by Choice on Facebook. She just got major busy as her show schedule got hectic.
Good to know, say hi for me. Don't know if she will remember me or not but we did have some phone conversations prior to my getting Merlin for that short period of time.

Greybeard sold out the cattle, and they bought a house, with a pool, on a LOT ; moved out of the wet area to the drier part of western Texas..... he said it was time to give his wife an easier life. He is not thrilled to live where he has to have a separate type of PAPER bag to put his grass clippings in.... he cuts/mulches most but the grass mowing around the pool means he has to collect it so it doesn't get into the pool... I know he misses the cows but with some continuing health issues I know that there are trade offs. He has been a little more active again lately on CT...

There was another member with goats that was in some sort of partnership with Southern by Choice... who used to post.
At least @OneFineAcre checks in occasionally... their daughter is out of high school and going to college... went from showing goats and added the steer and she has done good... and they put some very NICE BEEF in their freezer.

There is big group of "in their PRIME" members on CT talking about having sold out or getting out or have cut way back.... in their 70's mostly, or older... one in TX says his hay making guy is the youngest in the area at 76 :th.

The person that had a partnership with Southern was her daughter. I think the business is Wings and Caprines.

Poor Greybeard, moving from land to a development. Hell of a shock to the system. There is a guy on BYC who is VERY reluctantly moving from Florida, where he has at least enough property to have a few chickens, to the massively over populated county in NJ just west of Manhattan. Not even enough yard for a crap chicken coop for his 2 remaining girls, they will become house chickens. I really feel for him. His wife wouldn't compromise even a little on moving there (to be closer to her parents) and go at least a distance out where there is enough of a lot to have a back yard of any size. He hasn't specified but from his description there is no lawn in the back, nor room for any lawn, I'm guessing it is a claustrophobia inducing 3'-5' setback from the house to the fence. I think I would rather die.

I’m glad to hear that. I thought she had left BYH because of a disagreement between her and Barb about Mel. I know that she’s got to be very pleased with Mel’s life now. Any good breeder would be.
