10 week old buckling seems to be eating and drinking fine maybe a little bit of constipation. He is weaned and eating hay grass and alfalfa pellets with grain. Should I give him antibiotics and of so what kind?

I did a round of the Tylan waited a couple weeks then a round of LA-200. He is still congested and a little green goop in the corner of his eyes. No coughing or other symptoms temp in 103.8. He seems to be eating and drinking fine. I called the vet but can't get in until next Tuesday. What do I do until then?

Those would have been my 2 drugs of choice so at this point I think you have to wait for the vet and some Rx drugs. I have a buck that I can't even really handle that I noticed when breathing hard when he follows be around the field, not sure what I am going to do. I am wishing he was a tad smaller.

I think that all you can do for now is make sure he stays hydrated and wait. That stinks

One of my bottle babies got a little bit of a runny when I first brought him home. I used Vet Rx for a few days straight (he absolutely hated it too!) and it cleared up! Love that stuff. I have also used it for a few chicks before.

Can you get that at TSC or where do you get it?

I got the poultry one at tractor supply. No matter how much I looked I couldn't find a difference in the poultry one and the livestock one. :idunno I think the livestock one just comes in larger bottles. I couldn't imagine needing any more then the little 8oz bottle (I think) that I have. I think I put 2 drops into each nostril 2x daily for a nigerian dwarf that was 2 weeks old. I also put it in a cats ear to treat ear mites. :hu The cat is still fine and so are the goats!

He seems better. I haven't rechecked his temp yet. Even tho I'm pretty sure anything below 104.0 is normal anyway. So, he really hasn't been running a fever. He congestion is much better. I can't hear his breathing like I used to. I ordered some VetRx from Jeffers. I think it's supposed to be here tomorrow. I thought I'd give him some anyway. I think the LA-200 worked I was just a little impatient.
