do it do it do it :) ;):D
Enabler! LOL

If I could order 3 or 4 puppies instead of a likely litter of 12ish - I'd do it in a heartbeat, lol.

If I had a bunch of pups spoken for before breeding it might be more likely to happen. There's something to be said for raising your own - especially when you know the background and the work ethic of the parents. I need to really give it some thought.

I always put something yummy over the dogs kibble. I keep canned dog food for when I don’t have anything fixed for them. Yesterday I mixed the canned dog food with their kibble. I fed Carson on the back porch then went to feed Sheba and Buford.

Sheba sat quickly, none of her usual thinking about it or lollygagging around. She stared at me until I said take it, then she dug in.

Buford also sat quickly, didn’t even have to tell him. I put his pan down, which put me almost eye to him. He fixed his gaze on me, waiting for those magic words. He looked down at his pan, eyes locked back on mine, licked my nose, eyes to pan, eyes back to mine, licked my nose, eyes to pan, eyes back to mine, licked my nose, eyes to pan, eyes back to mine, licked my nose…… by this time I was laugh so hard, I said take it and he lost no time doing so.

Buford got newborn lamb training today. Sugar had twin ewes early Saturday morning. Buford wasn’t in the ewe pen, but was in the next pen, so he was close enough to know everything going on. I had company over the weekend, so I waited until today.

Buford used to stare at newborns and bark at them from the other side of the fence. He was confused when these things showed up. When I let him in the pen, he would hide behind me for safety from that mean ol’ ewe.

There was 2 sets of twins born 3 weeks ago and Buford has not barked at them. Two sets of twins were born Saturday and Buford has not barked at them. He has laid close to the pen like he realizes he is supposed to take care of those little ones.

Today I let Buford in the pen with Sugar and her two tiny lambs. He sniffed Sugar, she was at ease with him. She wasn’t defensive or nervous. He licked her. He sniffed the lambs and licked them. He was respectful, moved slowly and had soft posture. Perfect Buford.

We went out of the pen onto the field. I told him to go to work. He wrinkled up his face, deep in thought. He looked towards the ewes out on the field, but walked me to the gate. I told him again to go to work, went out the gate and walked away. Buford trotted out to the ewes, walked through them, and laid down to keep watch.

My boy has grown up.
