Thank you! Yeah she was very confused about what to do, pushing the calf away, spinning away, and she did kick at him a bit, but they figured it out!Congrats on a live baby.... that is the first best thing.... Sometimes new mom's don't get that whole idea that the calf has to suck on them... and some will mother it but not want the calf to go towards their back legs/udder... I have seen them keep backing up to keep the calf in the front of them... kinda funny to watch...
And yes, often times bottle babies don't get that the whole mother thing since they didn't have a mother so to speak. Glad she is halter broke so you can help her to get the whole idea.
Been about a month since your first post... so I wasn't too far off. Got a picture of the udder now? Sure hope she milks better than her momma so the calf will get enough.
