Hi,

I'm new here but an very glad I found this forum. My wife and I are retired (tired all over again !!!) and have 22 acres. We just ran cows, fowl of all kinds and my wife's herd of dogs. We saw some mini donkeys and fell in love with them. We now have 3 jennies and 1 jack. And then we found some mistreated mini horses and ended up with 2 mares and a stud. I have the mini donkeys in a 2 acre pen and the mini horses in a 1.5 acre pen.

Question: Can I just pen up the mares and jenneys together in one pasture and put the males in seperate smaller pens????

Thanks for your replies,

tonygrz

we have a jack and he has to stay by himself. he doesn't get along with anyone except the jenny, but she has a colt on her. we tried to put him in with my paint mare, she is so much bigger than he is ( he is miniature donkey) but he bit her, and just was not nice. I would not put the jack and stud horse in together, they will most likely fight. the jennies, and mini mares? you could try, they might be ok if they get used to each other across an ajoining fence line.
good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm going to keep them seperate for the time being. I just wanted to keep from building another fence.
