Greetings from North Texas!!!
We had a crazy year. I wasn't planning on my breeding season until later this year, but my buck had other plans:oops:
long story short ended up with 9 kids, lost 2, and am currently downsizing, to get a better handle on pasture life, plus a lot of personal stuff hit us just as hard ie: daughter getting married end of year and youngest son made us first time grandparents!! Will try to get on here more if time allows.

Hello! I’m not even sure when I was on here last it’s been that long :hide but we moved a couple years ago which unfortunately meant the chickens had to go too. :hit I did get a dog though but I think I’ve posted about him before? Because I got him before the move and before I disappeared from here. He’s doing well. He turned 3 in January. I haven’t really been up to much different. That’s pretty much it. Hoping to start the garden soon. I’m just buying plants this year because it’s too much with the seeds and everything and I don’t even need that many plants. 1-3 per veggie max. Maybe 5 for tomatoes. Not 20, 30, 40 like I was starting with seeds  :hide but yeah. Great idea, Nifty!!!

Hey ya'll!
Sorry I've been kind of absent from the forum! I have been busy though - I had 'my' first rabbit litter!

My babies, and their mom and dad, Rosemary and Willoughby. Rosemary's the blue bunny.
It's been a load of fun, but a lot of work. Rosemary has pasteurella now :(

It’s been a while but we have been busy! We moved to a new state and bought 17 beautiful acres of untouched land and are in the process of building a house by ourselves. As if we didn’t have enough going on we just welcomed our 4th baby and first girl. We had to sell our animals when we moved but we have a new flock of chickens and a new herd of ND goats. Our new goats are absolutely beautiful and I was so blessed to get them from some wonderful bloodlines. The milk is flowing abundantly around here!

We have such a wonderful community here at BYH, but we know life gets busy, so I was thinking it would be fun to start a thread welcoming some of our herd-loving-friends we haven't seen in a while.

If that's you, come say hello and let us know what you've been up to! :)

(if that's not you, feel free to invite peeps you haven't seen in a while and say hi to those that post here)
Hey everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm still trying to get my operation up and running. I'm focused on building up the infrastructure on the farm to bring on 2 dairy cows - fencing, water, etc. I want to set up a rotational grazing system with goats, dairy cows and sheep. One of the challenges I face is getting the animals across page brook, which runs through the farm. Still hard at work!!!

Rotational grazing for my goats started this month. Grateful for our rainfall this year. We are at a little above average for this season. I only have one Angora now with 11 great working Boer mix goats.

No pictures yet, but I'm working on building homes for incoming rabbits. It's my first time with rabbits and I'm still trying to decide which breed to focus on. I prefer heritage breeds, so if you have any helpful tips for rabbits I'm all ears.

Hey Everyone, our lives have drastically changed. We had to give up our animals 2.5 years ago. I still miss them except when it’s raining. Then, in December, we had a sudden move and I was thankful that in the midst of packing up our home that I wasn’t also having to rehome animals. God always has a plan even when we can’t see it. We moved from Georgia to outside Raleigh. We are living in a 55 and older community. We made the difficult decision not to get land so that we can leave when we want to spend time with our kids and grandkids. I hope each of you are doing well. I truly miss my animals. They brought me such joy and a few headaches. It’s just us and our 2 spoiled, lazy house dogs.
Many thanks to all of you who offered such amazing support.

Hello! It's been way too long since I was here last, but all is well with my family, animals, and myself. I'm working on a new shed and facilities for some of my animals. I've been looking into getting some goats. I certainly don't need anymore mouths, beaks, or bills to feed, but I need some goats 🤭
