Hello
I have a goat that has a hard abscess on the side of the neck where I gave a CL vaccine last weekend. There is puss coming out and it is very hard. The goat has a temp of 101.6F. Could this be a side effect of the vaccine? A infection? If it is a infection what can I do? I don't have a vet. I live in CA and I can't get LA200. Is there any other broad spectrum antibiotic that doesn't need RX in CA? What should I if it is a side effect. I have been giving her antibacterial cream and bluekote and some nutridrench as a booster.

Did ya vaccinate with CL vaccine because you have it in your herd? If so, ya might consider that the puss is from an active absess. If it's at the exact spot of the vaccine, it might be a vaccine reaction. I don't know many herders who use the CL vaccine because it messes up testing for the disease.

A temp of 101.6 isn't really considered an elevated temp.

its from the injection. I did hear reports of the CL vaccine causing swelling like this. Is there any reason to be worried

No idea...

But... how is it today?
One of the does abscess popped today. I sprayed and applied bluekote and neosporin she is very sensitive to me touching the abscess. Its super hard. All the other does still have a hard abscess. I Wish I had antibiotics.
Any help

But, except for the abscesses they are acting well?

If yes... then I would just ride it out.
