We missed church one day with 2 new (under 3k mls) tires on the car at the same time. 1 had been patched 3 times already. Had to change one and get a ride to the house for the orange stuff. (1 problem with the car being the feed store truck. More weight than the tires can handle over the big rocks on out gravel roads.)The compressor couldn't get more than 10psi in it, to limp it home.
We were keeping a concrete block under the back bumper of the stock trailer so when it ran flat it wouldn't sit on the rim. I fixed that one a couple of weeks ago.
I wish they stuck to everything having a 15" or 16" tire. Now my new truck is 18", camper is 15" everything is a different size. Then you could run a car or truck tire that would fit your trailer/implement.
I used to give my old truck tires to my neighbor who scraps in front of his garage and has nails, wire, etc everywhere. He would get a longer use of my tires than I did the new replacements.
Memorial weekend I took the horse trailer camping. Had to put some orange stuff in a tire before leaving. It's been flat awhile. After getting home I was glad the tire in front of it made it home. I need that orange stuff in 5 gal buckets.
It's a new thing every time we (all of us on here) try to do anything. I was checking the hot wire earlier and thinking of the tootsie roll pop commercial. How many passes does it take to get to the center of ALL the problems. 1, 2, still not yet. Maybe I'll get the weed eater and try again.

Good news instead. yay
The calf is healthy and looking great today. It's a reddish brown with a little white mustache and goatee look, with white on the front and inside of the front legs, belly and a little on the inside of the back legs. SHE looks just brown from the back if standing up.
The hot wire (where nothing was) is working again. And the answer is 4, 4 licks/passes and a weed eating.
10 chicks are healthy. A Funny. My 5 year old came in this morning after finding some after birth. He said dad there's some "meat" in front of the barn. Is it afterbirth? No it's MEAT. Another funny. My 3 yr old was watching the cow calf pair with me this morning. Dad where did it come from? Did you take it from it's mommy? No that is the mommy. She had it right before we got home yesterday. Son It wasn't there before church. Me I know it was in her belly, blah, blah, that went on for a minute. He's got a little sister. He should know kinda how that works.lol

I hate flat tires. I’m gonna need new tires for the truck soon……$$$$$

I have a multi-plugged tire, it leaks air and I check it constantly. I always check air in trailer tires and truck before I do anything. I have a small Harbor Freight air compressor and it’s perfect for me and what I use it for.

@canesisters when I worked at a garbage company, I got one of those magnetic drag things on wheels to drag the lot. I’d start with the parking area where the office staff parked. Amazing what I picked up! I started leaving little piles of nails, screws and what not on their desks. The ladies didn’t like it until I told them that came out of their parking spaces and would they rather have a flat tire. They were rather snobby, they were “up front” and I was “in the back”. So snobby that they would invite me up front for cake or special goodies, but not the mechanics and certainly not the drivers. I told them I wouldn’t come unless everyone was invited. What a bunch of witches.

Anyway, get one of those magnet drags and drag where you park. Better yet, if there is a yard hand, ask him to do it-and share cake!

We have taken truckloads of old rusty metal - screws, nails, etc. off the field, starting with the old burn pile from 100 years ago. There is still more stuff here. Yesterday I went into the lamb pen and discovered that the eroding hillside has uncovered more crumpled chain link. Not ours, left by previous owner when if fell down and they just covered it with dirt. Like the entire roof of shingles I found in the front where they were piled 6' deep. I dug them all up by hand and hauled them off to the dump. Every time the wind blows it uncovers more trash. Now mostly tire enemies. When I walk across the field, I pick up at least a handful of stuff that wasn't there the day before. I think it breeds!

I wish it was that simple. There's a 'citizens drop off' area just outside of gate. It's SUPPOSED to be for bagged household garbage - but since it's not manned, contractors (& residents) use it to get rid of everything from torn up decks & sheds to roofing debris to entire contents of foreclosed homes. The road is littered with nails, screws, & various bits & pieces that fall out of open trailers.

I'm "up front" but let someone bring in a treat & not share it with My Guys & there will be trouble. I usually end up with the leftover - if there is any 🤪

I am constantly amazed here from what just works itself out of the ground. The first 2 years I thought I had it cleaned up. Tilling the garden (when the tiller was working) going back and forth pulling bricks, glass, old toys, rocks etc... and going back again. Every time I go out there, pastures or garden is an arm load full something, even whole coke bottles, mason jars, old whiskey bottles and no telling what in the form of metal.
And this is a little bitty place.

I took more pictures of my "soaker hose" on the truck. I still don't know how to get them on here. While I was cussing my new flip phone the other day, my wife asked, what are you going to do when you have to get a smart phone?. I said probably just quite having a phone. Anyway
I put out 1.25k gallons of water yesterday and 1k today. It's raining a little, 3 counties away. I think if I worked at home all summer I could put out 2-6 tanks at 200-250 gallons a day and not have a wet spot the next day.
I'd imagine you all know what my tank looks like. One of those 250 gallon-1,000 liter liquid storage tanks the size of a pallet and the metal cage around it. I wish I had 2 so I could put one on the lawn mower trailer and dump 500gal at a time.
I also wish I had, as we all do, a little more $moola$ so I could put 1 of those little Miracle Gro bottles in every tank. According to my soil test it needs that much.
