Four bottle lambs. Found three this morning abandoned in the barn. Converting spare bedroom into Lamb Hilton. Haley is in a crate in the garage bored but fine. New lambs have issues. One was butted by an old ewe, ouch. One is having trouble standing (white muscle disease? New pasture maybe selenium issues?). Hubbs informed me that we need to start chickens and he’s shopping for a bottle calf. AND he would like to start entertaining clients, have barbecues etc. since we have a new house.
*long gap in post because I fell asleep*
Groping for the high octane Cuban coffee. On the bright side I may be done lambing.
I wish the best for you and the bottle lambs. They are so darn cute and you, as bottle mine mama, have their full devotion . Then they grow up. Not as cute anymore, but keep their friendship going with you.
YES! You need a bottle calf too! Ummmm….. why? To raise for the freezer? Just go buy a weaned calf. You’ll have more in milk, plus time, than it’s worth. Skip straight ahead to 400 pounds and start there.

Today is warm and sunny. Plus I got home (planned) to let these kids out! Since mom has been on antibiotics and I was watching for any butting issues...first sun and dry.... Here's pics!

Miss Kitty, Matt (black) and Festus (tan)... They're 16# each at a week. Healthy little buggers.

And since she was there, a 6 month old I had bought...

Breed her parents again! You might win the genetic crapshoot again!
Miss Kitty is highly unusual. If you sell her, just her color alone will attract a higher price. Sorry Matt and Festus, Miss Kitty was always prettier than y’all.

Moonspots! She is so pretty! A colored up goat or sheep eats the same as a plain one, so why not enjoy the eye candy!

Amego is a handsome fellow, still looking good at 38!

I hate to post about such young bottle lambs because they can fail but update- all ok. Lamb Hilton is slightly odiferous (the return of my sense of smell just in time for bottle lambs). The generous amount of pee combined with spilled milk :thLacking sleep I went to Walmart. My hair had been rained on opening my gates, there was lamb poo on my jeans and my shirt was buttoned up wrong. I started singing Oh Sole Mio which I must not do in public (tone deaf as a post) but do absentmindedly at home. Pretty sure a couple of people locked their car doors. Our Walmart was out of meat except for scattered brisket and some bedraggled odds and ends. Ditto with eggs. So I get Hubb’s desire to have more critters but lawdy where will I find the energy?

😁. Somehow I feel some carts may have avoided you inside the store . If boot bottoms had poo and hay still there from stepping in it, well -- there you are, fashion star!!🤣🥰
