By the way, should I ask how Thanksgiving went at the sisters' house with DD and family???? At least you are still talking to them to go to the orchestra performance.... :hide.....

My sister and her two half sisters were going to go. My sister is actually my half sister, same mother. Her two younger half sisters and her have same father. My sister was ranting about one of them getting flaky about going to the concert and not paying for the ticket. So I told her I’d love to go if other sister flaked out, which she did a few days before the concert. My sister was relieved that I wanted to go and she wasn’t stuck with paying for the ticket. It was done in November and she had already paid the credit card. She acted genuinely happy that I went and enjoyed myself. The 3 of us had a great time.

All set up to begin cookie making even though going to start with the no bakes and while in fridge doing they're thing going to move onto the baking kinds. Currently don't have cooling racks but hoping make shift (2nd pic up next to wall) will work out.

Sometimes I had to close my eyes because of the lights. This video is I think, from 2022. They do a Christmas show every year for past 22 years. I’m thinking if you have housework to do, pull them up on YouTube and get moving!

Looks like we've got the same cookbook!! ;) Ah - no bakes!! My college roomie's grandma used to make the most scrumptious big cookies ginger-oatmeal I think. No-bakes as I remember my roomie telling me that. I've yet to find anything even close. Have fun cookin', tastin' and snackin'

I have a cookbook I made up from different recipes and ALL my desserts are in that one and divided into sections (Holiday, Special celebrations, Cakes, Pies and so forth).

Yup, having fun cooking but not really trying to taste or snack on any seeing how trying to get on a strict discipline so I can shrink my belly.

Sometime in the mid 70’s I worked in a plastics factory. The work was hard but there were a lot of good people there. An older German lady worked in our department and for the life of me I can’t remember ever seeing her without out a cigarette (before osha). Every Christmas she made rum balls. Vanilla dough, ground nuts and Bacardi. Our boss, a young college grad and quite proper, worked hard alongside us. One evening I came in to run second shift and found he had polished off most of Mom’s rum balls. He rose out of his chair, a bit red faced and proclaimed he had never eaten a Christmas treat that burned. We thought he meant digestively but he pulled out a lighter and ignited a rum ball. Boy those were the days.
