With our rain, I can go on a couple muddy drives and have personalized "brown mud flames" on it! 🤣🤣

And NO....son has NOT even worked on the damned thing in couple weeks! 😡😡. So mad I could spit tacks. Got all over his a$$ about it. I'm like, I NEED a truck --now!! Between rock & hard place. Don't want to spend if not needed (I like my old truck!), don't want to spend on some other things, in case. Figure if it's not running by wed, I'll go buy....sell one, once this one gets fixed -- may have a mechanic bill for that to happen 🤷🙄😡 I can actually go get one tomorrow, they're open. Need to drive a truck to pick up my new tiller, take trailer for a load of hay -- fence on hold until this clears up. Only so much $ to spend. I have financing pre-approved & don't want to buy if ole red is running, so no payments. Don't want to wipe out cash either. 😖

Yeah, I'm in a tizzy fit status. Looks like I'll sit on my couch & guzzle wine tonight -- to calm down!🤬

To say "I wish I had" just taken it to a garage would be grossly understated!!!!!!!!!

@Mini Horses ....Didn't know whether to be sad or mad... SOB sometimes you just want to cry/scream/cry again. Da@% these kids sometimes.
That is why I don't even ask anymore, I take my vehicles to a mechanic... costs, but it usually gets done in a somewhat timely manor...
My explorer is at the ford dealership... they took it down over a week ago, and apologized when I stopped in the other day to check on it AGAIN....... forgot to tell me... so waiting on them now to get it in and see if they can figure out what it needs... and it has to have some recall stuff done... at the same time it is there.... I am so sick of the vehicle BS stuff...

Oh, yeah......no "free help" from him again! 😖🤬😂. It costs tooooo much. He isn't yet aware of what this will cost him - oh, I can be bad when I'm wronged. 🤐

Tomorrow -- new day!! New year!! New start.....

By end of week I'll be on top of it all. 👍 Moving on. Borrow DGD truck for half day Tues. Buy a truck wed prob. Gotta go test drive.

Weather looks pretty good -- no rain 😁 -- I'll get some tractor time in! With a new toy. That's always a good time.❣️

I've a list of dealers that I "might" visit for test drives. One truck has all, maybe more, than I'd like and the turn off is color -- white! 🫤🙄. But never wrecked, exc condition, one owner, I'm really tempted there. Older, good trucks are hard to find.

Speaking of trucks -- prices are sinful for the newer ones!! I'll never buy one. Don't want all the electronics and not paying for it. Can't believe $50-100k, no way.
Ha! I agree with everyone else.

You can get, for pretty inexpensive, all kinds of decals and stickers from ebay, to cover up the white.

As to pricing on new trucks!!! Yes! Kid 3 needs a vehicle, and would really like a truck... but refuses (and doesn't have the money) to buy a new truck.... so keeps looking and looking for a used that will fit.

I don't understand why they don't make a bare bones truck... market it for the people who want the truck... to USE THE TRUCK, and the "own a truck as fashion statement " people, can buy the 100k version.

Well, they DO sell what they consider "basic" and no frills. Even they are costly -- compared to what we in our "prime" feel reasonably priced. Our thoughts are based on times when you could see the parts of an engine. Now, under the hood, it's wall to wall computer chips & controls. 🤷 Plain Jane models are still costly! It's sad, shocking & frustrating.

NO and NOPE and OMG NOOOOO... on a new truck. $85 to $100 grand for a new 4x4 250 or 350 truck... NOT happening... besides, like you said, all the electronic crap.... that is why I just got the 99 from my father's estate checked out, new hood latch, all fluids etc done and new air filter, inspected... and will put tags and ins on it in January.... thankfully does not have the stupid "screen" in the center with telling you all this info and the backup camera... do not want that either... ever... I'm too old fashioned...learned to use mirrors and learned to judge distances...
With the old trucks I've got a few problems with each, although I've been fixing some of them over the years. Several years ago because of those old trucks being broken down I bought the "new" one. 2011'. Now the 96' and 01' will out run it. It does have the back up camera and a sunroof.
The sunroof will not shut and leaks a little. With a new motor and switch it would open and not close. I had to get a 12v dc pig tail and a 12v extension cord to power it backwards and shut it.
I hate the backup alarm but liked the camera for hooking up a bumper pull trailer by myself, or pulling, really backing a little bitty trailer. I can't look in the rearview of any of my trucks, welder, tool boxes, water tank etc... but you can even see a wood splitter with the camera.
Un Officially sold the "new truck" a month ago. At the same time I decided to finally claim the damage done from a blowout on insurance, since I was losing that $$ off of the sale anyway. They had to do it virtually, then email the same pics and a video to someone else in a different department, then they decided it was to much damage so they needed to have their people come look at it. They couldn't just come here and look at it. I had to take it to a repair/collision center an hour drive. They didn't even talk to the repair guy. Just showed up and left without saying a word. He didn't even know they left. And they never called/informed me that they showed up of what they were going to do. The 1st ins person that called back (after 1st filing) asked if I wanted it fixed or just a payout. I said payout, now that's 2 reasons not to drive it an hour away. Minus it being there instead of at the house could help keep it from getting repo'd.lol Another reason I need those 2 checks. The wife got an email saying they were sending that shop a check minus the deductible with both our names on it and the email said something about still having to take it (check and truck) to another shop to get it repaired an hour in a different direction near Tulsa where you couldn't pay me to drive to.
Still having Carvana contacting me twice a week to buy it and still waiting on insurance before selling it. I did the math, I've paid more to Ins than the truck is worth
even fixed.
Wow what a rant.

Happy New Year. Coffee is ready for whomever wants some.
