No plans at get up but, sure worked outside! Removing 175' of wire over wood fence 😱 to replace with t-posts, wood pull posts, woven goat wire, then hot wire! A fortress!! 🤣 Prep is worse than new! I'm about 1/3 done with removal.

Thankfully, I have jobs to work tomorrow & Wed. 😂 I don't think I can do 2 days of this in a row. Chilly & windy with increasing winds next 2 days. Works out ok. I'll be back on it Thurs. Should be up by weekend, if rains don't happen early. 🤷 0nly a start.😁

Let's see, she has a box, can it be closed? And beside what about other stuff? No block and tackle to hoist things up? LOL our son had a loft in his room only accessible by straight up ladder (no angle) -- put in a pulley, rope and a bucket so we/he could get things up there.
Oh I got a electric hoist, but that would really terrify the kitty. She has a box downstairs 4' x 4' x 4' I put her in at night with heat lamp. Just need to build the stairs and see if she can climb them.
These aren't mine, but they are of the design I'm going with based on limited landing space at the bottom. Just don't try them in the dark, drunk or tired.

Ah, ship stairs my favorite tester of coordination. They work but always face the ladder going up and down. Commercial ones are only 24in wide, ugh. Wider without that slant at back is better especially if you have odd foot angles like me. Highly suggest mocking up a few steps before committing to width. OSHA.gov had detailed drawing of normal dimensions.

They look cool ---- but --- we did an Air-BnB years ago that was in a really cool 2 story apt - glass floor on the second level, and ....... stairs of that design. Looked cool, first time up and down was fun, but after that if you didn't start off on the "proper foot" it was weird, very weird. Think right handed using left handed scissors kind of thing. If I come across a pic I'll post it.

I already started building them and they are based on width of other designs except mine is one of a kind. I'm talented, I face away from the ladder always going down unless carrying something heavy or bulky. Kitty gets to go down facing away the ladder with me 🤪

If we wanted we could turn this into a part time BnB or rent it out for weddings with how odd this place is. I am pretty curious if anyone would want to book a wedding here as such, an idea since this build is one of a kind.

@Alaskan I hear you! Everyone down here build colonial/ European high peak roofs and shove their ACs in uninsulated attic space. MY house with have rooftop terrace and guttering design for max in/hr rain.

I'm guessing your neighbor has my preferred design up where you get tons of snow.
Their roof is a pitched roof... and it is metal. It is pitched enough so the snow doesn't stack too deep to cause weight issues...

BUT
1. The south side dumps ON the deck, and with a heavy load (which is often) the weight alone will iceberg some of the snow.. so you get an ice sheet on the deck, even when you shovel it off as soon as it falls.... just too much snow and too heavy...

2. The north side has the boiler exhaust... coming up through the roof, towards the edge... so ALL that huge roof sheds a great deal of weight of snow... up against the exhaust stack. Yes... it had snow guards and braces... but was ripped off this year by the snow... the exhaust has been tacked back on... and now we need to nurse it along until summer and we decide how HUGE we need to go to keep the blasted thing on.

Slept in. Turned alarm off, rolled over in a warm bed & decided to stay for a while. Not gonna rush today. 😊 Just poured my first cup! Nice that I can make those decisions 🤣 no set times.

Heavy frost today, just getting burned off. Goats didn't venture out until about same time I got up. They're having leftovers from last night hay....good! Don't waste.

Coffee, chores, get ready for work...half day of jobs.👍
