Happy Easter! It’s drizzly spot showers here. Coffee is ready and I need lots of it. I’ll get suited up and get outside to do chores soon. Then church. Debating whether to go to ER and get ribs X-rayed. Pretty sure I fractured one, I think when I was pulling the 6 horse panels out of the weeds and grass that had grown up in them, then dragging out of horse pen. Or maybe it was when I was pulling gates out of the grass and weeds that were grown up in them. Or the myriad of other things I’ve been doing. Pounding T-posts, dragging panels, those bodacious heavy pallets, building this new pen that I lack standing one horse panel up and pounding T-posts for……. I think I’ll ask a neighbor to pound those last T-posts. Son hung the gate yesterday. I haven’t fallen down, been knocked down or anything like that, just doing what I do and my body is telling me I shouldn’t have done that. Son said I should go get checked out, with emphasis on it won’t cost me anything with Medicare and the supplement .

Son left for Midland last night around 6. His old truck top speed is 65 MPH, it’s low geared and not fast. So a 9 hour trip will likely take up to 12 hours and he just wanted to get it over with. Said he would pull over and get a nap if he got sleepy.

@Baymule, your son is right, use the insurance -- get checked -- at least know the damage for sure! 🥴 Ya know, chains and the tractor help to pull things 🤔 it's true, I've bent a couple but, mostly learn not to and to work it slower, a little section at a time. Use the equipment...even the mule and rope. 😳🤷
If only a few posts, yes ask the neighbor. You can give him a dead, plucked chicken next week. 🤣🤣

So I slept in. Coffee is hot, tasty, reviving. I need to go to town this morning to spend the $ on my OTC insurance card. Yeah, last day of quarter and this one doesn't carry over. I dislike that. Other one did. Plus, while there, I need more dry cat food and I'm out of butter 🤷 honestly I wouldn't even go -- except for the end of qtr, use or lose thing.

Want to mow but, after wetness yesterday, probably won't. And they say "possible" scattered sprinkles later today AND more rain Tuesday. Darn, never gonna dry out! 😡 Drive the roads and see low spots in crop fields, looking like a pond. Really too much rain this month. It's been wet all over eastern coast. I suppose Jul/ Aug will be drought. 🤐🤐

Time for chores. Happy Easter everyone !!

Happy Easter to everyone.

@Mini is getting so much rain on the eastern side of the state and we are not getting what we could really use here in the valley... the thing is here, there is not much flat ground for it to just "sit" .... all hills and swales and such so it never much lays in many spots....Glad that DS gf got the rest of the field planted the other day, and the fertilizer is on all the hay fields and such... we just need some more moisture...and consistent warmth but it is too early for that here......
Today , through Tuesday may get some storms and again some wind coming in behind it... 70's for the next 2 days, with nights in the 50's... then dropping to 50 days and back in 30's for nights.

Yeah, agree on the get checked out... all the years you worked, use the medicare and benefits you now have... At least you will know if it is just "pulled on", sore muscles that need to just get a little break, or something that you need to let heal, or make it worse..... and yep, we learn to do things to compensate...

I HATE the being in the "prime" and not just going out and doing what I used to do...

High of 41°F today with snow/rain, but in 24 hours spring will be here and in 72 hours summer will be here, but don't get to use to it, cause spring will be back followed by winter. Interesting place to live with 3 to 4 season in less than a week.

Good morning and Happy Easter all. Coffee is hot here (it’s that 3 hr time difference ya know).
Had a real rainbow this morning. Full across the sky and to the ground. It battled with the dark clouds for awhile. Looking at some
More rain for the next hour. Just under an inch and a half for the weekend.

Happy Resurrection Day!
Still having some physical issues. Not looking forward to the 15 hr drive to S California and the pain it will trigger. Found out last night I probably won’t get to see the grands either 😞
Not really much point in me going.

Spent all afternoon in ER. Got X-rays and no fractures. I pulled the muscles over my ribs. It will be better in a week or two. Dr prescribed muscle relaxer but I didn’t feel like staying in town two hours to get them, I’ll go pick it up tomorrow. I’m supposed to take it easy. LOL

I showed pictures of my lambs to hospital staff. They loved the pictures!

Coffee is ready! I’ve got to ear tag lambs with scrapie tags today. I’ll catch the ones I can catch. I think I’ll ask Chase to stop by after work and help me with the rest. Fast little stinkers! I scrapie tag all lambs. The ones I keep get a real tag.

Morning, lock down for the next set of ducklings, only 8 of them are spoken for out of 72 and in week for next month another 36 or thereabouts is hatching. So might end up with few hundred extra ducklings to the flock, this could get interesting. Got two more goose eggs in my homemade incubator and a 3rd waiting to go in. Wife snatched it while she was near it instead of waiting so now I think she will start hiding them.
I think I will start on my portable livestock shelters today I need some funds plus I want to see where this goes. Dropped inch of snow last night, will be muck here in few hours, but it's okay.
