BOTH US!!! Cheaper than beef.

Hey, the Boer meat is finer grained, better carcass to bone ratio. Some limited marbling because we feed more than forage. But their conversion of forage to meat is far better than dairy. Of course, I'm not going without my dairy girls to milk 😊

We are getting eggs! And it isn't February!!!

What can I say! Pullets! Nice! I think a few are duck eggs!
After 23 days of no eggs I got 1 on Tuesday, 1 on Wednesday, none yesterday, and 3 already today, yes!

I think it's my almost 6 month old pullets, they've all developed their big girl combs.

We did not get frost as predicted, but we were close, and the wind is making it bone-chilling. I've been thinking about the people in western NC who are still living in tents, thanks to the wondrous efficiency of both the federal and the state governments...

Finally got some water yesterday for the house sliding the backhoe around moving things. Got down to the well pumped about 300 gallons before it stopped, ran out of gas, forgot to ask the wife to check it. Fun part is I found out the blue discharge hose doesn't like below freezing temperatures, unrolled it and every crease turned to a split.
Split in particular area sending water everywhere till contained, got good and soaked and wherever the water went it instantly turned to ice. Talk about slippery.

I keep my finger on the toggle switch to turn it off fast when I see headlights.
I know what you mean now. Wow, had a buck was blinded to the point it ran few few one way, turned 180° went a couple more feet and kept going back and forth blinded. Any closer to the truck despite me doing 5 mph would of ran into the side of it. Could of snuffed it with my knife.

Coffee is ready. I found an antique/resale shop yesterday and the owner is coming to son’s house either Monday or Wednesday to buy stuff. I’m thrilled. I don’t care what she offers, as long as she hauls a lot of it away. Goal is to completely empty son’s house. I won’t stop until it is all gone.

Thank you all for your kind comments about Smitty and Crockett today (and ever). They derailed a FB post I was ruminating (pouting actually) about regarding Ms Dog Rescue who has ghosted me, so no pup from her. She has posted on my FB feed, soliciting donations, bashing breeders and complaining bitterly about the general public’s ignorance of her heroic plight to save dogs. Ugh. Deelete. Ain’t no one need that. Meanwhile some photos-
