The storm they predicted came thru. Fortunately not severity here that was suggested. Glad! Winds whipped up about 10pm, stronger 11ish, some light rains. Looks like 1/4-1/2" max. So nice dampening. Some pollen got washed off last night 🤣

Almost 90 yesterday, low 70s for today 🤔. Good.
Coffee & chores done. Off to work shortly. Rather not go but, it's a bad habit that's hard to break 😂☺️😉

Son got laid off when he went back after Easter weekend. My sister in law and him did a turnaround trip to Midland and bank that Friday night. Left at 6 PM, got back at 6 PM next day. She has a 5th wheel hookup in her truck. Insurance got his truck out of the wrecker lot, still no word if they are going to fix or total it. Probably fix it. The day he gets it back, he’ll trade it in.

Coffee is ready. The hooligans have had their bottles and are outside. Got to get remaining chickens slaughtered today.

Got 6 Cornish Cross Dirty Birdies slaughtered and hand picked today. Got 4 in the freezer, stopping so son and I can meet my sister in law in Lufkin for all you can eat catfish. Going to slaughter the other 6 tomorrow and hope to get them all in freezer.
Lady, you need to get that whiz bang put together! Or buy a kit for one. It takes 30 seconds for them all to be perfectly plucked clean! Although I an replacing most chicken dishes with rabbit now…

Boone snuk into bed @ 2:30 this morning. He made himself fit between us very nicely. I came out to the couch around 4 because if my back. Fen climbed on my lap and smothered me in kisses this morning. Boone was very tolerant of it. Yesterday I got him to open the door for himself 6-7 times but he was so focused on getting his cookie for it he has no idea he actually opened the door for himself and still comes and makes me get up to let him out 😂

I’m really tickled that I have been able to build food drive into him as it’s not typical for LGD breeds, adding more challenge to the difficulties of training them.

I’m wondering how much more his head will grow after 6 mo. as I want to train him to a basket muzzle in case there is ever a need for it ie: injury that would make him resistant to treatment, etc. i also want to get him into a vest for public access. He’s close to 90 lb so would already be in XL, but will it adjust enough to fit him when he’s 130?

Hoping my shoulder is healed enough to do something today. It still hurts a lot but I don’t want to see a doctor until Randy has had surgery in his. It seems unfair since he’s the ine who works and does chores everyday. I help when I can but a lot of times I am just not able…
Need coffee and haven’t been able to teach a single dog to fix it…

Ya' know - I'd find one that will fit him now and start the training while he's so amenable to learning new things. He'll be used to it when/if you get a bigger one. Easier to go this way then to have a battle later. Ya' know - like crate training, walking on lead, etc - always easier when they are younger. You can always sell it if/when you get a larger one.

I think you’re right. I will do just that. Thanks for your input, it’s always appreciated

I have a chicken plucker sitting here, used it on first 25. These got so big that it would beat them up, so hand picked.

Did last six, they are on ice. Taking an ice tea break.
