It’s late. And I’ve blown the froth off a couple. Has anyone (family) really confronted you all about your choice to raise animals/ homestead? I don’t come from a rural background and my in laws didn’t like theirs.
Nope, we are only in our 40's/30's and all family has passed away on her side and on my side, well might as well be dead too. We are on our own since we started our journey together in life.
My dad always said I was wrong, it's impossible anything I did and I never would amount to anything in life so I'm sure would be still said decades later.

I’m the weirdo in the family. My momma said she didn’t know WHERE I came from! My Daddy was the son of a sharecropper and was put to work in the fields chopping cotton at 10 years old. My sister and I are direct opposites. I’m happy outside, doing farm stuff. My son gets it, but thinks I’m crazy for having sheep. If it were cows, we’d be on the same page. LOL

Coffee is ready. I might have a real busy day today, dunno yet. From the storms, the San Jancinto River authorities opened the gates on Lake Conroe. Water was in the park across from my sister’s house. She has worked for weeks, cleaning and packing items she was able to salvage from the last flood. In 2 hours, her son and friends packed up all the boxes and a mattress and moved it to her new house. Waiting on her phone call. If water is not over the road, I’ll be hitching up my stock trailer and going to help.

Morning all. It's turtle race day for the kiddo's. Our local town's annual event "Pioneer Days'. The turtles will be happy for it to be over so they can let loose again. The weather should be good for it today as well, just a foggy start.

:caf Another dress in layers day 😂. Cool morning, hot afternoon. It's wonderful. My farmer tan is doing really well. I've had so much tractor therapy this week that I'm going for another can of diesel 👍

Ok this weekend is a rip out some old fence time. It's a crappy job BUT -- the time has come for another section. And we have rains coming Monday, they say, so I want cardboard, mulch & posts for CP at the climber beans & the tomatoes. Add garden work. That post pounder will last longer than my shoulders, I'm sure! I did slack off yesterday as I roamed the pastures with goats. They pointed out a couple new "spots" (that I fixed) and they checked the places I had previously fixed 😳😡 just to be sure. 🤣 What fun!! 😊 So I walked fence lines, checked posts, vines and briars, to decide what I needed there 🤔

Oh, the luxury of HIRING the job done!!! Dream on. :old. Another cuppa, hang a load of clothes that just finished - I'm outta here.

We are out in the middle of nowhere, so no farmers tans here :gig Finish up hopefully this job today hopefully on moving all this rock around this guys house and move onto our road. Or maybe not move onto our road, I'm not feeling that motivated yet.
Got new well controller in, I will see if this works, if not I'm switching brands.

It’s our Western Days started yesterday (chili cool off to start it) parade (closing most roads in and out) and festivities to follow.
No turtles here, just rattle snakes but no snake race 🤣.

Ugh. The Generator Saga goes on. A propane regulator needs to be replaced. The generator folks cut power to the house then let the generator kick on to test it detecting the faulty propane feed. Then the ac/furnace unit’s computer panicked and shut itself off, probably preventing a fire according to the Electrician. No ac for a few days but the weather was cool mostly. Generator repairs scheduled for next week as well as a conversation about the surge problem between ac/furnace and generator (which renders the generator useless). The Propane people and Generator people are blame gaming and the Electrician has declared everyone an idiot. Time for the special coffee. :barnie
But the storms missed us and we kept power. So :weee
