Notice to all residents of Ridge Drive: Due to weather conditions, typical use, and imprudent usage, repair and maintenance activities are scheduled from November 4, 2024, to November 4, 2025, with additional future work as necessary. Scoria rock will be installed in areas lacking such material, potholes will be repaired, ditches will be constructed to facilitate water drainage from the roadway, and the road will be widened to the designated width of 60 feet where required. Progress may be slow, as the actions of some residents have been more obstructive than supportive; you are aware of your identities.

Now that's funny right there, I don't care who ya are.

My current boss who kinda understands the job, tries to over explain things so any simpleton can understand it, while he doesn't fully understand what he's talking about. It starts out sounding simple then it's wait you just said the opposite, ok I don't understand when you're talking out of both sides of your mouth.
I think of the same person when he goes on not really saying anything understandable.

AND we finally got some rain. More in the last 4 days than June-Oct combined. Last months water bill was over $500 trying to keep some grass growing. The horses have been penned and the cattle are in the winter lot for months even with haying all year.

Ahhhh, finding my way back to regular life. The last of the pups left yesterday. He is now in GA, the first left last Wednesday and now in IL, the third stays with me. Lots of work went into the three of them. By 8 weeks they all knew how to walk on leash, sit when told, lay down, come when called, on "Go outside" they'd all go to the door to go outside, "Go in the house" same except to change from inside to outside, loud noises and strange noises don't phase them, early detection training/exposure, car rides (well car sick can still happen esp with our bumpy twisty roads), and most important are basically house trained. That's how I do it. Reports from the new owners -- doing great and learned quickly where their new door is, complete with understanding. Puppies are such wonderful sponges :)
Lots of work, lots of fun, I'm exhausted - but smiling.
While people were here through the week last week, most of my fall lambing also happened. The previous triplets a couple weeks ago were followed by another set of triplets two sets of twins and a single. One more ewe to probably lamb as she has a small bag could be the last for fall lambing.
On the DO list for this week - record all the new lambs, get a start on hoof trimming again - ram, his pal, the unbred ewes.
OH and COFFEE, lots of COFFEE !
