Found this online about Bovaer: (just fyi or points to start research or whatever or ignore......
.
Philip Swann This week, Arla Foods announced they're feeding their cows a chemical called Bovaer®.
The pitch? Reduce methane emissions by 27%. The reality?
Another disturbing experiment in tampering with nature for profit.
Here's what you need to know:
🛑
What's in Bovaer®?
The active ingredient, 3-NOP, isn't some harmless magic fix. It's a synthetic compound linked to DNA damage, reproductive harm, and endocrine disruption in animal studies. Oh, and it's paired with industrial chemicals like propylene glycol (used in antifreeze) and silicon dioxide.
🛑
Cows aren't the problem.
Methane is a natural byproduct of a cow's digestion, a process evolved over millennia to sustain their health and balance ecosystems. This isn't a flaw; it's biology.
The real enemy? Industrial farming, monoculture crops, and a food system prioritizing convenience over sustainability.
🛑
Messing with nature isn't the solution.
Feeding cows synthetic chemicals disrupts the delicate microbial ecosystem in their stomachs. This could lead to nutrient deficiencies, health issues, and a ripple effect on the quality of milk and meat.
🛑
Cows are not machines to
"optimize." They're living creatures central to regenerative agriculture.
When left to graze naturally, they sequester carbon, build healthy soil, and provide food that nourishes us properly.
🛑
Follow the money.
This isn't about saving the planet.
It's about grants, greenwashing, and corporate profits. Bill Gates and BlackRock have heavy investments in methane-reduction tech like Bovaer®, creating dependency systems that choke out small, ethical farmers.
When was the last time a massive corporation did something "for the environment" without strings attached?

What can you do?
------------------------
⭐️
Stop supporting companies like Arla, Tesco, and Morrisons that enable these practices.
Instead:
⭐️
Buy from local, pasture-raised farms.
⭐️
Choose grass-fed, raw dairy and meat.
⭐️
Support farmers who respect nature, not exploit it.
⭐️
talk about these issues and become more aware of what you eat and drink
Thank you.

I purchase produce at the farmers' market, raw honey as well. There's a lady baker who uses butter in her cakes, I buy a slice occasionally. There's a lady who sells goat cheese that I like. I still have 2yo meat in the freezer that I am using up, but will start buying grass fed from locals soon.

And my flock provides me with eggs...no meat, they're my pets.

My wife works at a research facility on cows, they actually have one that runs around with a window on its stomach to see how things work and so they can research things. She isn’t involved in the research per se, just purchasing and procurement. It’s a federal facility Ft. Keogh, use to be an Army base for the Calvary up into the 1900’s. Also the largest snowflake ever was recorded there. The barracks are still there.

Get to waste my morning going to the sheriffs office this morning, second time this week. Doubt it goes anywhere as usual. High of 30°F today and fuel keeps dropping. Great it does at the same time can be sign of the economy finally coming to its senses.
What for? Neighbors complaining that you keep breathing?

Poor cows. They are living creatures, not some kind of machine. Industrial food doesn’t care about the source, namely any living creature or the degradation of the environment and soil. Industrial food doesn’t care what chemicals or poisons it takes, what preservatives it takes, as long as it makes it to the consumer. You are what you eat. You are what you eat, eats.

Coffee is ready. It’s 35F with a north wind. The wind bites. I did 6 loads of laundry yesterday. I went to Target with a $25 gift card and found some bath towels for $4! I bought 4, plus 3 hand towels. I’ll wash them today and put in the guest bathroom.

Last week I woke to frozen water....today it's 68 😱 wish we could just level out. 🥴 It did rain last night, pretty hard about midnight, woke me. Haven't been out yet, know we got a decent amount. Wet but not raining at the moment -- coming back really hard noonish to 5 ish. They say 1-2" possible, t-storms. Makes it so annoying to do chores. Oh well! Better than those raging fires!!! So much destruction, with no recovery😞

First cup down -- going out to get feeding done.

Eight inches of snow here and counting, this is where we are pushing snow on the bumper. Should drag out my 38" tractor tire and drag it down the ridge to help it start melting this weekend from the road. Stop right before trailer trash and leave it on my property down below. If they want to steal it, hey have fun!

1.7" last night. Soaked in, few puddles this morn. It's coming in waves, hard pour & winds@20mph. 😣 Had scheduled a job but, not going in this. Reschedule 😋👍 just came in from 10 min in a barn, watching it rage. Maybe I'll make that cake I've been wanting 🤔
