Coffee is ready! Going to be a sunny beautiful day! Tomorrow the rains are supposed to start and go through Friday. Merry Christmas to us! Naturally I have 4 ewes with due dates of the 24-28. Plus 3 that are looking suspicious. That doesn’t mean anything, they could be right on time or several days later. The important part is that they should have lambs during the rainy weather and dare not wait for sunny days starting on the 29th. Or maybe they will.

Yes, after my "sooner than" gal this week, I'm cautiously looking at all FFs. One has me nervous with the 17-20 nights for a few days! Anyway, wasn't a controlled breeding season so, they'll come when they come. But looking like Jan will be real busy!!! 😖🥶🙄

Today will be sunny but cold. 20 out there this morn & barely 60 inside. Brrrr. Heat now turned up. That first cuppa is always so wonderful and I'm enjoying it immensely. Partly because I slept a full 8.5 hrs straight thru!! 🥰 Frosted outside, so I'm sure it's a hot water trek day. That'll begin soon as I finish another slug of hot encouragement. :D =D

I have another batch due in February, our coldest month. A few stragglers in March, maybe some scattered in January. Eh. The TexKats club is having their third Sheep Field day in May, gonna take some sheep to sell. The lambs will be at a good age. It’s by private treaty, so a good opportunity for seller and buyer.

Warm morning of about 25°F and temperatures are supposed to hit 50°F today. I was "SUPPOSED" to have the week off, but nope I get to go weld some aluminum today and work on another day on finishing up a horse trailer. Started fixing warranty work on it and added a electric jack after I ripped the manual one off. Going to add solar to it too when it comes in this week.
Only reason all these livestock shelters are getting warranty work is cause I exist there, without me no one is certified enough for the aluminum work. If I wanted they would hire me on at their production facility in Colorado lead welder on the Merritt trailers.

Electric jack on a trailer.... never heard of that. Interesting. Probably very pricey too... guess I just need to keep "exercising" with the cranking....:gig:th:th

First sourdough loaf in years just out of the oven - looks great, glad I still had a tiny bit of my starter in the pantry (dried). Added flour and water an in a day it was ready to go.
DH brought in the crud sniffle cough crap (probably from where he volunteers for tax stuff - setting up computers etc). And I've got it. ARGH - no time for down time. Power through I guess - no other option.
Now the bread is out of the oven time to go let the sheep out.
BUT -- yesterday we got someone's 100+lb pumpkin -
They ladies and lambs worked on the outside first and then I broke it open for them........

Good morning.

Went to church last night, "candlelight" service at 5pm, courtesy of my son who can drive in the dark just fine. Up late, 7:30, with a scratchy throat which disappeared after coffee.
:caf

Sitting with dh at the hospital. He's calmer today, that is a good sign. He still doesn't know me, but apparently it is common when patients experience "hospital delirium"... from too much stimulation.

The crud sniffle cough crap is running rampant around here. The Princess and Daughter went to a show in Atlantic City and brought it home over a month ago. The Princess and I are still dealing with an occasional dry hacking cough. Something different than flu and Covid as we tested negative for those. :barnie
