Come on, where's your sense of adventure? Now they up the ante to over a foot deep worth of snow. We get twice as much as what they predict up here due to elevation where we live.

I lived in Connecticut for 21 years...I had enough snow for several lifetimes.

I've not seen even a flake of snow here in NC the last two years.

I think we did....me, born in Stamford... 10 yrs outside Newtown.... this area of VA, now, since 1981.... more time in "Confederate territory", than in "Yankee land"... 28 yrs vs 43 yrs.... so I guess that makes me a Da#@ Yankee... but I prefer to say an adopted Southerner....

Texas is several descriptions, WEST Texas belongs more to the western states. EAST Texas belongs more to the southern states. SOUTH Texas is a border state. NORTH Texas is reaching up for the Midwest states, but not quite getting there. CENTRAL has Austin in it and general consensus is to carve out Austin and give it to California.

Born in the tip of Texas in a small town not far from Brownsville, parents moved family to Longview when I was 2, then to Houston when I was 8. I was 19 when I left Houston in my rear view mirror. I’m an EAST Texas gal, pure-Dee TEXAN all the way. Slow Texas drawl, my accent nails me as a Texan every time.

I think we did. My parents moved to Old Saybrook when I was 7, that's where the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound meet. Then we moved around, before my marriage and after, all eastern CT, up in the foothills where snow was plentiful: Rockville, Stafford, etc. With two little children and an inability to make ends meet we moved to SC, lived there eleven years, then to NC 25 years ago. So, 36 years in the Carolinas vs. 28 in the North = a happily Transplanted Yankee, roots down deep in the clay.

I went to a convention in Houston, another in San Antonio. That's my experience with Texas

Huh. Lovely evening. No Coffee but snow is falling. Maryland winter storm warning. No measurable accumulation expected. Weak... Sunday night and Monday we have 6"+ expected. I should get to watch some roadrage filled big city MD tailgating speeders slide off the road then.

Middle son is in the back room learning to program in Python from Daddy. Oldest son is sick. Littlest nut found a TV show to watch. It's going to be a quiet night. I guess I'd better go feed.
