Just gonna be cold here for a few days. Down in the 20’s, no snow. High in 40’s, so no lingering freeze. I go get baby chicks Wednesday. Today I put finishing touches on coop. Run extension cord, hang heat lamps, tack dog food bag to door, get water and feed ready, pine shavings, wrap whole coop in a tarp. First cup of coffee right now.

Well, here it comes...snow!

Computer models agree, we are getting it!!! How much depends on exact track but here -- saying 6-12". Track 60-75 North the 6. Track more southern, a foot -- a foot will put my area "down" at least a week. No equipment to clear most roads, only main highways and that's slow, waiting for outsiders coming in to help rescue.

Late wed until thu morn. Barely 30 & teen overnight

Two largest, deepest snows here in 25 yrs was late Feb. About 10 yrs apart...last was about 12ish yr ago. Can I just say ---- "oh, sht". Feeding will be unreal.

Having coffee, biscuits, sausage & gravy needed a " mood lifter"

I've sent an inquiry to the rescues for each of these gals.

I've not heard back about dog #1, and dog #3 is on a trial with a possible adopter. The rescue for dog #3 asked me to fill out an extensive application, which I did. However, I don't think I will be approved. They asked if I would be okay with someone coming by for a pre AND post adoption inspection. I politely said no. I don't feel comfortable with some social worker wannabe checking up on me. There are plenty of dogs that need homes, enough available so I don't have to grovel and kowtow to someone's delusions of control.

I had a lovely conversation with a lady who fosters animals, and I now have an appointment to meet dog #2, on Saturday.

I think she's part boxer. She's got a "smooshed" face and jowls.

Just how it is here, I can't help the weather.

Odd thing they are saying it's only this cold, but my truck is saying different. Low fuel pressure and computer reduced engine power on me, diesel gelling up when it's supposed to not to gel up till -20°F. I shoved some treatment in and filled up with #1 instead of #2, $3.99 a gallon is painful.
