For all my dislike of the GF situation here... she does not allow the kids to misbehave when she has the sister's 2 kids... and they don't do that kind of crap with my DS... and he is not related either.. But they also are not outside without someone being right near there all the time... on the farm here they know better... have been taught from time they could walk... Tough situation for your DS since it is not his... but his gf/grandma needs to be more in control of the kid when it is with her... As a grandparent, she could make a serious impression on the kid..... for the good... if she tried....
My DS will tell you that when he went to "grandma's house" (my parents) that you just didn't do bad things there.. you would get in trouble...biggest thing was it was a treat to go to stay at grandma's... so you didn't do anything that would take that privilege away from you... cause they got to do all sorts of fun things there too.. my mom was a very "hands on" grandparent.. and it was a treat to go there because they were "involved" with the kids.. and taught by example... but they also did fun things...

Bless you for only grabbing the arm and scolding... he's lucky he was not here...

Just looked out window and kid's chasing 3 tame goats, that were let in yard to eat, WITH a stick & hitting them, running after them. You betcha I went out, got him by the arm and brought his sorry butt back up to her. Yes scolded every step!! He's screaming & crying because he knows he's in trouble. Probably afraid of me. I told her to take him & leave. Not having this shi/....🤬 Gone for now. DS upset, raised his voice to me. I told him to shut up and he could leave also.

Yes, a child. One who needs guidance & control.
Yes, hot box was reading 14! Bet it stung.

The goat he hit yesterday wasn't injured. But... I have some 4 day olds that could have been, close by. Just can't have it. I've never seen a child this age, this out of control. Too much junk food, no routine, no guidance. Animal cruelty leads to crimes....

So much for a good weekend off. 🫤😖
I would have been tempted to give him a 2x4 and put him in with the bucks.

How old is this child in need of discipline?
Ah. Four and a half, that's a tough age even with discipline.

I am constantly appalled by the lack of discipline.

Patents just ignore their kids and think the kid will magically turn into a great adult. And then they whine and complain that their kids are terrors.

Blows my mind.

Strict and CLEAR rules, lots of chores and hard work, lots of freedom to fail and learn from failure...

It was always my thought that you scramble hard to get the kid raised right, so the kid knows all the basics by SEVEN! Up to seven you can grab the kid, toss it over your shoulder... whatever... easy...

So, basic discipline needs to be all worked out by then.

And all 5 of my boys are incredible... so clearly it worked....

@Mini Horses holy crap - out of control hell yes. You exercised huge restraint IMO. I would’ve been much much tougher. And kicked them out as well. There is absolutely no room for abuse and or stupidity like that. Hell I get pissed at kids that chase seagulls here. It’s scary to think what he will turn into as an adult.

I'm hoping for a better day!! There's only "up" after yesterday, right? With yesterday gone & an ugly memory, I'm hopeful for that. Since events happened over a few hrs, I accomplished nothing for self or farm🥴

It's overcast, some front moving in with rain late tomorrow. I'm back to work tomorrow. Right now, schedule has no work rest of week. Maybe 🤞🤞🤞 I will accomplish something  garden still waiting. Coffee time is over, I need to get myself "doing", not sitting.

Snow anyone? About an inch of wet snow with highs in upper 30's. Was going to get 500 gallons or more from the well and that we are critically low on water, but that ain't happening. I at least before I took off got the well pumping for about 5 days after I took off. Wife turned it off but didn't check the water level.
Going to crawl the ATV through the goop to see where we stand at for water down there, thankfully it's a 6 x 6.

Early wake up 🥴 pouring 2nd cup. Working a job with DD today ... some "catch up" time. She works PT for this same co as I do. So, a reset job. Since I had a set time to leave I kept waking, to not be late.😞 At daylight I'll toss hay & be done...back home 1ish. Right now, nothing else on job sched until next week. Maybe some farm work can happen 😂

Looks to be good weather most of week. Rains thur- sat but very light and may fizzle out. Hope these winds stop!
