Up about 6:30, nice. Puttered, did laundry, etc. then went outside about 8 or so. Dug out dirt under the straw in the main coop, spread it around but not on plants, though I am fairly certain it's not "hot". Pruned, treated fire ant nests, weeded a little, watered a little, and then mowed.

Coffee is all gone, I drank it all... :caf

We need rain, @Baymule , send some our way!

@Alaskan that's winter here! but, you enjoy it! It's 65 here now, today's low. We will be close to 80 later.

Rains piddling off/on all day. Only .21 predicted over 24 so just enough to annoy you. It's fine. No big plans anyway. Having hot tea this morning. :caf then out to check animals. Broody is 1 week from hatch...I'll be at Gilmanor swap that day.

Going up to low 70's today. No injector came in, will check around 1400 hrs to see if UPS delivers it. A lot hangs in the balance of what is next when I test it. House, the business, the ranch all has been on hold cause of the excavator been down so long.
Could do stuff with other machinery if I didn't mind taking a hill out to make a hole in the ground.

We've had a few days the last couple weeks in the high 70s sometimes touching 80. Oh man I feel for you all who are now in the 80s. Not liking that heat. Thank goodness we're back into lower temps. 48-57 today :yesss:. I know our hot days are comng, just not looking forward to them. Maybe if heat didn't also mean rattlers out I'd like it a little more.

We will be touching 80's next weekend for a tickle. I feel we will be hitting the 100's this summer and not coming down like the summer of 2020.

Awake since 4am. I thought I wouldn't be able to work outside today, so I headed over to the farmers' market about 8:30, bought a loaf of sourdough bread, some strawberry muffins made with butter :yesss:, and some organic bratwurst.

I actually was able to putter outside without getting a headache! I cleaned and organized the front porch (not out in the sun), planted the window boxes (technically on the porch railing) and then finished planting annuals for the front steps. I made a new mixture of peat moss, compost, and soil. I hope they do well.

And since it still hasn't rained (2 weeks? 3?) I watered all the vegetables, the blueberry and elderberry bushes, too. No mowing, I think that's what overheated me.

It's 82° right now, I can handle it, just not doing anything heavy like mowing.

I love the 70s!

Getting closer to the 90° mark.
