The word cow came via Anglo-Saxon cū (plural cȳ), from Common Indo-European gʷōus (genitive gʷowes) = "a bovine animal", compare Persian Gv, Sanskrit go, Welsh buwch. The genitive plural of "cū" is "cȳna", which gave the now archaic English plural, and Scots plural, of "kine".--Wikipedia

So, technically a bull is a type of cow or cattle or kine, right??
What Sheepgirl said. That definition from Wikipedia is about the colloquial version of "cow," not the technical version which SG defined for you. So, colloquially speaking, yes. Technically speaking, no. Since we are talking about bulls here, I still was right to correct one poster's comment of reference to the "nice cows."

or Bullock = castrated male in the UK

so its never simple - bullock in US is young male still with bits ( I think )

In Australia and New Zeland Bullock = it might have its bits or it might not

But the poster WAS talking about cows. You assumed she (he?) meant the bulls.
