Nope. That's enough info right there.

Bridge - That's what I would do right there. Give em the Ivermectin. If it clears up then I'm guessing it was Lungworm; if it doesn't, could be anything from a respiratory infection to duty hay.

Not sure what you have on hand...but both Ivermectin and Cydectin are safe during pregnancy and both should treat lung worms if that is what your ewe has. Glad Kristi brought up the possibility of lung worms...that was new to me and not sure how I've missed it before in my reading of all sheep diseases?

I will second that. We had a doe that was coughing, no temp, no other signs, just a non productive cough. Treated with Ivermectin because she also had other worms and 4 days later... no cough. Dosed orally at 1cc per 45lbs.

Well we just did worm them with Ivermictin a couple of weeks ago. Are the lungworms like the equivalent in dogs that have heartworm..once you give them the treatment it takes a while for the worms to break down in their systems. So I'm thinking the worms might be breaking up from the Ivermictin treatment and that's what's making her cough. Just a hypothesis. We need a worm expert!

btw we give the oral paste.

The coughing is from them latching on to the lungs.

Lungworm is a possibility considering they are by a creek and thus lots of snails.

Southern...you are right...probably snails at Jacob's Beach?

Note to self...yet another reason to get that upper do nothing pond filled in...bad enough worrying about sheep drowning in there...but snails are a good possibility too
