Are you still feeding every 4 hours? That is really too often. If she is 3 weeks old, then 3 bottles a day should be fine. They need time in between bottles to digest the milk. I would work towards getting her to the 3 bottles. How much does she weigh?

Whole cow's milk from the store or the canned goats milk is fine.

I would read through this: http://www.backyardherds.com/web/viewblog.php?id=586-baby-goat-info

She was 5lb. on Monday. She will be 4 weeks old on 2/5.

She does go 6-7 hours at night without eating, but during the day the longest she goes is about 5 hours before she starts crying.

I increased her last bottle to 5oz. I'd like to get her to go at least 6 hours between feedings.

The poo is less runny, but still not right.

I'm going to switch her slowly to the canned goat milk and see how this goes.

Should I keep up the probios?

She is 5 lbs and almost 4 weeks old? Something is definitely going on that she is eating and not seeming to get any nutrients from it to grow. She should be much bigger than that.

I would definitely keep up the Probios.

I agree with Ksalvagno. I would let her cry it out---she will be okay, promise. The runny poo is probably because she is eating too much and can't digest it. Did you do the CD&t yet? Goat milk or whole cow milk are both fine (i would think the cow is less expensive). Probios never hurt.

Going to get the CD&T vaccine this week. Is 4 weeks too young?

What dose? What gauge needle? Where do you inject? Under the skin?

The only shots I've given were ones preloaded from the vet.

I'll stretch out the bottles more.

The only reason I bought the canned goat milk was because the vet said to keep her on goat milk.

And yes, at $3.00 per 12oz can, cow's milk is much cheaper!

No 4 weeks is when you should be giving it, no later, especially if they have no immunity from their dam. For little kids, I like to use a 1/2 inch needle 20 gauge. You will give this now and then repeat it in 4 more weeks.

CDT is 2cc and you give it under the skin. I almost always use a 20 gauge needle for everything except the thick stuff.
