I emailed them this:

"Hi,
I saw your ad for goat kids on Craigslist, and I had a few questions for you. Is your herd tested regularly for CAE and CL? Also, are the kids eligible for registration with the ADGA? Are the kids pure breed, grades, or do you have both? Do you vaccinate? Are the kids being fed artificial milk replacer or fresh goat milk? Do you breed for confirmation and milk production and strive to improve the breed? Finally, do you show goats at all?

Thank you for your time!"


Although I am not even looking for another goat right now, my curiosity just got the best of me. If they are selling registered does for $30, that would be crazy for sure! I hope they email me back.

You should get me a couple while you're there! lol aren't you near me, kind of? There was a dairy in Artois(between willows and orland) last year that sold their bucklings for $10. They should be kidding soon but I want a few doelings to bottle raise. Oh and you should probably call for a quicker response. Places like that are usually too busy out in the barns to check and respond to emails.

We are about 40 minutes outside of Redding, so not too far. I still don't think I will be getting one, but the more I think about it, the more I want one....or two....or three.... Goats are pretty addicting! In fact, I was recently diagnosed with acute G.A.S.

I just texted them, since they probably are very busy. I will keep you guys updated.

Still no reply to text or email. They probably are super busy with the dairy and kidding right now though and usually just deal with people who pick them up quickly. We will see.
